What do you guys think of this little medley (which was for some reason removed from the dubbed movie).?

A nice little tune, but I personally like the English dub version better.

I love Tapion's song! I actually saw the English dub first, but I had heard the original song (through various MIDIs and remixes). When I watched the movie, my friend made me watch it in English... I died when the song that played was NOT Tapion's song. And then his voice was completely wrong from what I had imagined for the past nine years. And they pronounced his name wrong too... I was not pleased.

I love it! The dub version pales in comparison. I wonder why they changed it. :|

Same here. The original evokes such a tragic and saddening atmosphere.

Why does the title say flute? I think it's ocarina.
Saiyan Prince Vegeta wrote:I wonder why they changed it. :|
Agreed. Even if they change the score, there is no need to replace his ocarina song. Also, it's silly that other instruments start playing though he has only an ocarina.

By the way, I've been wondering who really composed Tapion's ocarina song. Tetsuji Hayashi is credited as the composer of Yuusha no fue: Tapion no teema, so is it that Kikuchi arranged Hayashi's composition, or Hayashi used Kikuchi's melody?

Yeah as much as I liked the INTRO to the changed tune I didn't understand why they added more instruments and other music to it. I don't mind seeing other spins on BGMs but this isn't a BGM this is the tune Tapion plays... Its like mixing up an attack and then adding other sounds to that attack. Would be like if the Ocarina in Zelda played completely different tunes AND added drums and such when played. I realize it was supposed to add to the mood with the other sounds and Tapion wasn't playing them but oh well :?

You can pretty much say the same for the original theme tune as well with adding more and more to it without Tapion actually playing it.

So it's not fair to criticize what the changed tune does when the original does it as well.

Here is just the flute, pure, so to speak. It's still synthesized.
It's the best imo.

Haven't you carefully seen the original Japanese version? It has only his ocarina when he plays it.

So tranquil and relaxing. Even though it almost sounds as if it's whistling.

Tapion's theme is one of the things that makes Movie 13 so great to me. One of my favorite Dragon Ball tunes for sure.

Ugh, I don't understand why I've seen so many people say this lately. I know most people will say this about the dub as a whole, but that tune (and the movie's entire score) is so generic and forgettable. I even admit that the FUNimation dub has some catchy and memorable tunes, but in my eyes this sure as hell ain't one of them.
