I'm really confused! What is the difference between these two series:
I mean, are both of them colored versions? Is the first a tankobon version and the second a magazine type one? This has been bugging me.

The first is a digital version (that follows the tankobon in every detail EXCEPT for the chapters in the Z section - volume 17 starts with Raditz's arrival instead of Goku and Piccolo's battle, since they are divided by arc) and the second is a physical version (this one ommits some chapter pages and place others in different places compared to the tankobons; also it has an introduction to the Dragon Ball world - the colored version of the first part is only available digitally - and more chapters per volume).

The website very clearly answers that

.
The first picture you have there is from the beginning of the series, which is
digital-only, and in Japan-only right now. There are both black-and-white ("monochrome") and "Full Color" versions available digitally.

The second picture you have there is from the "Z"-portion of the series, which is
print-only in Japan right now, but is coming chapter-by-chapter
digitally-only from Viz in North America.

The Z portion is available digitally on Japan as well, man (Saiyan arc only).

Oh, that's right! My bad. My own website even clearly has entries for those

.
But yeah, the WHOLE series isn't available in "Full Color" digitally in Japan... yet.

Hey, guys thanks for the (freakin' quick if you ask me

) info!
Also, when you mean digital, do you mean, like only seen on the internet and such? For example there aren't actual volumes of the first picture shown, right?

That's correct. For the Japanese stuff, they're for things like the Kindle Fire, iPad, etc. For Viz's stuff, you can read them on a computer screen in addition to tablets and phones.

Sorry for being so annoyingly curious but what you're saying is that the first ''cover'' doesn't exist as an actual book?
Also, the second one, does it (or, will it) cover the entire series up to End of Z?

Yes. That's all correct. When we say "digital-only", we mean "there is nothing you can hold in your hands that is constructed from dead trees"

.
As for the print versions, the Saiyan Arc is out right now in three volumes, the Freeza arc is out very soon in five volumes, and they will continue onward from there.
We have a couple quick looks at
the Japanese print version and
the North American digital version right here on the site.
