Raging Blast 2 online cheap shot players ruin the game

Post by dbboxkaifan » Sun Mar 24, 2013 7:53 pm

RB2 has its pros and cons, but the online mode suffers from the players that constantly only spam and use Special/Ultimate attacks, this alone can demotivate the opponent to defeat because there's no purpose in continuing as the rest of the game follows to just be more of the same.

It doesn't matter if creating a match with "no special attacks to be used" as it is still usable. Hell, I'd just like to battle out with fists and kicks, and then when both characters are near death then that'd be an ideal time to use an Ultimate Attack.

IMO because of these douchebags playing against the CPU is actually better because it doesn't rely only on stupid special attacks all of the time.

Yeah, that's part of the reason I don't play online with Dragon Ball games (That, and my internet can be very disagreeable sometimes). I appreciate that it's really an unfixable problem and they do try to help reduce cheap tactics. When Raging Blast 2 came out I quickly picked up on many things that made spamming certain things impossible, like how you can now block rushes.

Doesn't the raging blast series have wild sense spamming. I had that in RB1 but I haven't bought RB2 so I don't know if it continues. I would play T3 online, but it sucks online.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Yeah I stopped playing online because of the spamming douche bags. Hell if that's not bad enough, the game is broken. So many players abuse the games flaws to get the upper hand.

Wild Sense/After Image (Strike too) was a problem in RB1 because you were affected by large hits and supers/ultimates. Super Vegito was ideal (saw lots of him). In RB2, WS/AI was affected by ANY attack so it became less of a problem. The Spamming of Instant Transmission, Supers and Ultimates still exist. I barely played online because of button lag, but I have to say compared to RB1, most of my fights that I lost were to good players and not spammers. I think I got to E rank....then stopped caring...

I only consider Afterimage Strike and Grab supers/ultimates in laggy matches problematic, maybe False Courage and LSSJ Broly's Explosive Wave too, but that's arguable. Everything else is definitely counterable. It's mostly the melee that is a problem from my point of view, there are many exploits like the ki blast glitch, super rising glitch, jump kick when you're sliding on the ground etc. and it's generally too easy to attack behind the back. I guess you could try vanishing correctly, but that won't help much if it's laggy and some character still have their unvanishable smash attacks.
I wonder if it's possible to get rid of spamming supers/ultimates altogether in a Sparking game without making it too restrictive. I believe Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World has the best fighting system of all Budokai games, but if it had an online, there'd probably be a way to spam in that game too.

I like the idea of making supers/ultimates unuseable by just leaving out the message in your lobby.

IW has a few tools to prevent spamming supers/ultimates. The ki guard completely nullifies them and makes them waste their ki, supers fired randomly are easy to avoid and using them also gives the opponent the chance to teleport behind the spammer and punish them.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Overall it's a great game but there are definitely far too many cheap players, and glitch exploiters. Also some people overuse the afterimage strike to the point where you can't land a hit.
