He's a better singer than voice actor, at least.

Personally I think he's a great actor too, but that aside, yes, he's an amazing singer.

This was cool to hear, I really would like to hear an official version of this. And I actually got a laugh out of the GT opening playing instead at first. I'll admit that I wish this had really been the 'full' song though.

I thought he had already done an official one, episode 1-98 for TV right? Or am I making a mistake somewhere? :P

Entire? That's not even the full TV version, which he did at one point.

Anyone involved in the FMA dub is a top notch voice-actor.
I had no idea he was such a good singer until recently though.

I liked this video but it's too short. It be awesome to see him sing the whole thing live.

You're entitled to your opinion but I think you'll find you're in the sharp minority on this one. FMA is generally agreed to have one of the finest dubs ever. Strait gets a lot of well-deserved props for Krillin but his Hughes is what I'll always associate with him. Then there was also Willingham's Mustang, Clarke's Scar, Blaylock's Bradley, Powell's Envy, Patton's Greed... It goes on and on.

And I'm not blinded by nostalgia or anything of the kind here. I just watched FMA and FMA Brotherhood for the first time around a year ago. It was still legitimately great. FMAB had some nice dditions to the cast too, like Kent Williams as Father.

Wow, you just went ahead and named the worst offenders. Throw in Mignogna and Glass and you have pretty much all my problems with those dubs.

No emotional depth whatsoever.

No emotional depth? Edward killing Greed had to be one of the strongest moments in the original anime for me. I felt both Vic and Chris pulled it off perfect there.

Okay, how about this. What did you think of Izumi? This is how I'll know if we'll ever agree on anything. Izumi storming the military base to rescue Wrath is hands down my favorite part of FMA '03. I loved her character and her voice absolutely throughout the whole series.

I enjoyed Christine Auten's Izumi Curtis.

I actually rather enjoy Ed Blaylock's Bradley quite a bit, especially in Brotherhood. Probably my favourite dub performance of them all.

I hear nothing wrong with Mignogna's Edward acting wise, and I'm still impressed by his Broli voice considering how deep and gruff it is compared to his real voice.

Well the original anime didn't do nearly as much with Bradley as the manga/Brotherhood so it makes sense Blaylock would shine more when his character shined more. I loved the original anime but FMAB Bradley was one of my favorite characters.

Even still, I've never been so enraged with an anime character as I was with Bradley in the original anime when he stabbed Marta/Martel:
"I hope she didn't cause you harm, Alphonse. But now the fugitive chimera has been executed and I thank you for your help."

The sheer, unadulterated callousness...and from a character who had been so jovial and likable up until this point...I cried for poor Marta and Al and I cried for how much I hated Bradley at that moment.

Good call. He was the ham of hams. Only Cam Clarke's Liquid Snake can out-ham him.

I didn't know there were people who hated the FMA Dub like that... well, I mean, besides people who hate ALL dubs on principal.

I mean, you're entitled to your opinion... but... No Emotional Depth?... were we watching the same dub? One of the moments I look to to show Vic's emotional range is the Nina Episode of the original anime. The pain in his voice, especially his curt deadened, spiteful response to Basque Gran berating him (the part where he goes "Spare me sir, he used his own daughter")

Brotherhood was just as good, tho I miss Clarke as Scar but Tatum did an admirable job.

Both Fullmetal dubs were excellent. Penguintruth didn't listen to the same dubs everyone else did, but he hates dubs in general we all should know that by now with a few exceptions like Spirited Away (I think). The dub of the '03 FMA showed that FUNi could do better than they did with Dragon Ball. Vic is a great actor in everything I've seen him in. Most recent example is as Keldeo in the latest Pokemon movie. Nobody's even mentioned Aaron Dismuke as Alphonse. The idea of getting a little boy to play a little boy is a no-brainer, and I wish FUNi did it more often, but we are all going off topic on a DB forum. Vic sang Dragon Soul very well, and wish he sang the whole thing live.
