Question About Kai Insert Songs

Post by Android17 » Sat Apr 13, 2013 11:58 am

Alright, so just recently I finished up my DBZ Kai Parts Collection, and when I was watching Part 7 I noticed something... well, odd.

First of all, I was pleasantly surprised when "The Lone Warrior" came on during Trunks' battle with Perfect Cell in Episode 82. I wasn't sure if the insert songs of the Cell Saga would be removed or not as a result of the Yamamoto Plagiarism Scandal, but after this, I had assumed they had been kept in.

What confused me when I later found that both of Episode 85's insert songs, "My 18th Magic" and "News of the Cell Games", had been removed from the audio track (the latter of which had been replaced with Kikuchi music).

My question is, why were those two Insert Songs removed, but not "The Lone Warrior"? I'm also curious, are there some Insert Songs that were kept and others that were removed on the first two Season sets?

That's because "Saiyan Blood" and "News of the Cell Games" are the only insert songs that were composed by Yamamoto. All the other insert songs were done by other people.

That song still plays in the replacement score version because it's composed by Kanon Yamamoto who is Kenji Yamamoto's daughter. Listen closely to the song on the radio that plays when Goku is driving a car.

Oh, my bad, I must have just missed it. I've never heard about Kenji Yamamoto's daughter though, has she composed for any other anime?

She composed two songs for A Certain Scientific Railgun.
