Strikes against an account
Strikes against an account
I'm just curious, if I receive a strike, how do I know I have a strike against my account? Am I informed through a PM that I have a strike against my account? I am unaware of how I'm supposed to keep track of how many I have or when they will vanish. I have looked to see if there is a relevant post explaining this but unless I'm being incredibly blind I have yet to see a post detailing about account strikes.

Re: Strikes against an account
You are notified with a PM (which also includes a message from the moderator/administrator as to why you are receiving it), and your user profile has a log of them.

Ah, okay. Thanks for clearing that up. I felt there were some posts I have been a bit on the nose with and when you've said you issued strikes I was unsure if I was one of them. Also thanks for the quick response.

Re: Strikes against an account
I'm not necessarily done issuing strikes and bans this morning.
This shit has got to stop, and if it means I actually put my money where my mouth is and enforce the rules instead of being happy-go-lucky-totally-chill dictator, so be it.

Re: Strikes against an account
Well thanks anyway, I'm still unsure where I can see these strikes on my account. You say my user profile has a log of them. Is there anyway to see this log? I think I'm not understanding what you mean by this sentence. To me it sounds like you're saying "If you look at your user profile there will be counter showing the number of strikes you have." But I guess you could also be saying that this log is something internal that I or anybody else can't see. Like a hidden variable. Also how many of these strikes are we looking at for a ban? I'm assuming its the "3 strikes and you're out" deal.VegettoEX wrote:I'm not necessarily done issuing strikes and bans this morning.

Re: Strikes against an account
If you don't have any strikes, there's nothing to see. Trust me -- you'll know when you have it.
We don't have a harsh number of "this many strikes, now you're gone". It's user-dependent, time-dependent, infraction-dependent, etc. If you have two strikes over a ten year period, you're not going to be banned for good. If you're warned twice in two days and still come back after a temporary ban to go on a rampage, you'll probably be removed for good.
I shouldn't even have to be saying any of this. It's common sense. Be an awesome person. Be someone you would want to read comments by. Be someone who's not going to embarrass yourself and the community.
