Why was it never released by Toei and will we ever see such a release ever in the future?

A lot of production companies take their materials for granted and don't realize what they have, and unfortunately, I've found out over the years that musical scores fall under this category all too often. Actually, despite the fact that these same companies have finally started to realize there's money to be made in releasing their scores to the public, it's usually only the ho-hum modern material that makes it to CD. (And I could just be hearing things, but it seems to me that just about all film or TV scores nowadays sound the same: everyone goes for EPIC, but there's more to it than pounding on some extra-loud, booming drums. When that's all it is, it comes out sounding generic.) The really good stuff we get nostalgic about tends to get ignored just because it's seen as outdated, and that gets under my skin something fierce.

Anyway, we could very well see a release (not just of the GT score, but the entirety of DragonBall's music library), if only some of us knew how to put together a big, concentrated fan community/effort to lobby Nippon Columbia for MOAR BGM, like how Open Vault Disney has been banding together and petitioning to get Disney to release the stuff they've been ignoring, such as the final DVD volume of DuckTales (even though I don't know whether or not that effort is paying off, it's certainly does wonders for one's confidence to know there's a concentrated fan effort devoted to the things you want to see happen).
BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.

It was never released probably because fans are only waiting instead of spamming at them.
As I know, Akihito Tokunaga was working for Being Group when Dragon Ball GT background music was produced. Saikyō e no Michi soundtrack was released by ZAIN Records which belongs to Being Group.
You can ask them about it: http://beinggiza.com/contact.html

100% agree! We need to prove that we are real fans, and not only talk but do something about it.

Well I would immediately sign a petition to get GT's amazing score on CD.
BT3 off meds | The final fight

Ah, the Alpha and the Omega. As all life was created from Chaos...so shall it be DESTROYED!!!

The wails of machines | Singing cold harmony | Shifting air upward | Entranced by the breeze | Light pours like blood | Into a cosmic sea | Of stars crystallized | In a frozen symphony

Vegetto kicking you into orbit theme
