Old school site has DB and DBZ openings
I thought the guys here might want to know about this site called Retrojunk that has a lot of articles of old things from the 70s, 80s, and 90s including intros to TV shows. This includes openings for DB, DBZ, and GT. I haven't checked out the Z and GT ones yet, but below is a link that goes to the DB ones. I should mention they're dub only and one is the dub ending theme. This also includes that 80s forgotten dub. Warning though, that one is really bad. Like I said I thought the guys here might want to check it out, so if there's anything wrong with this Julian or EX, feel fee to lock it.

English Mafagushi Adonbencha! Haven't seen that beofore
But I'm assumming the 80's dub one is Intro 3? If so, it actually isn't bad...at least the song was pretty cool...now to find DBZ!
EDIT: Ok, I'm not happy. I was hoping someone would upload the endings for Zenkai Power and We Were Angels (As I've never seen 'em) but all there is is Rock the Dragon, and the intro and endings to the Redubs. But they were good =D

I'm simply DLing these vids since streaming would take too long, I'm on the first intro right now, but my guess is it's either from:askani son wrote:I don't recognise the third video in the DBZ section, is it the Ultimate Uncut opening?
EDIT: Anyone know what the theme song is?
A: The Harmony Gold 80s dub.
B: The 95 Ocean/FUNi/Kidmark dub.
C: FUNi's personal dub.
D: The Canada/UK redub.
And by the way, very good find, Sonic. Kudos.

I'm assuming it's the very first opening that starts up when you open the link that you're refering to, right? If so, that'd be FUNi's version of the Dragon Ball theme. Has abit of a more technoish beat to it, while Harmony Gold simply just replaced the Japanese singer with their own and used their own lyrics (fairly obvious it's Harmony Gold's version when they mention Goku's name as "Zero"Conan the SSJ wrote:I'm simply DLing these vids since streaming would take too long, I'm on the first intro right now, but my guess is it's either from:

EDIT: Okay, after actually clicking stuff, these are the videos in order.
Dragon Ball - Harmony Gold, FUNi, Saban/FUNi, Ending (FUNi)
Dragon Ball Z - Uncut Opening (FUNi), Uncut Ending (FUNi), Rock the Dragon (Saban/FUNi)

After you've seen it about 67 times, it's actually quite enjoyable.Smooth Criminal wrote:Dear God, that Ultimate Uncut opening is even worse than "Rock the Dragon."
My ears. My EYES!
I think I'm gonna be sick
And here's my lyrics to the ending song:
DragonBall, Lalala, Dragonball!
Dragonball, Lalala, Dragonball!
DragonBall, Lalala, Dragonball!
Dragonball, Lalala, Dragonball!
Babababababa, Dragonball Z!!! Babababababa.
(It fits, my lyrics to the opening is pretty much saying "Wa! Wa" at those two beats that are best heard when Gohan kicks the Piccolos, but are also used throughout the song).
I also go by "veemonjosh".

This might be, but Harmony Gold's version sounds the exact flippin same as FUNImation........FUNI stealing perhaps?. Strangely I've heard "Goku" in BOTH versions...Tsukento wrote:I'm assuming it's the very first opening that starts up when you open the link that you're refering to, right? Get that Dragon Ball! Get that Dragon Ball!
But, don't you know to make a wish you must posess them all.
7 Magic Balls! Hear the dragon call!
And feel the mighty magic of the sacred balls,
And then one wish is yours,
And any wish at all!
Danger! Daring!
Deathening! Dragon!
Zero is a hero
Dragon Ball! He's come from far away
Dragon Ball! He's here to save the day
Dragon Ball! Dragon Ball! Dragon Ball! Dragon Ball!
Yeah!!!!!
Get that Dragon Ball! Gotta have 'em all!
Bad guys lurking everywhere
Get that Dragon Ball! Gotta have 'em all!
Wise guys, they don't know at all
Watch as a buildin' falls
In the greatest quest of all!
Saban/FUNimation Opening:
Dragon Ball! Gotta find that Dragon Ball!
Don't stop until you got 'em all, the seven magic balls,
It's all you gotta do to have your wish come true
Get that Dragon Ball! Dragon Ball!
The greatest test of all is to find that seventh ball
Danger all around you, villains everywhere,
Evil, it surrounds you, keep on searchin', but beware!
Goku! He's gonna show you! He's gonna help you find the way
Goku! He's gonna show you! He and his friends are gonna save the day
Dragon Ball! There's always evil lurkin' till the Dragon calls,
You won't believe the magic in those seven balls,
Everybody's searchin' for the Dragon Ball!
FUNimation's Opening:
Find the Dragon Balls! Look out for them all!
You can search around the world with me.
Gotta heed the call of magic Dragon Balls!
What a great adventure this will be.
You can climb on board, 'cause the Nimbus doesn't wait!
A fantastic journey for your dreams -- a thrilling mystery!
Through the fires of time, they've waited patiently.
When all seven balls you find, the Dragon is set free.
Rising, rising, mesmerizing, unbridled ecstasy.
Radiant and shining, hidden somewhere in the field,
Luminous and blinding, with your desire revealed.
Ageless, timeless, what you'll find is beyond belief!
Let's try, try, try, look high and low!
Search the sky and the sea below!
Let's try, try, try, seize the day,
And make new friends along the way!
Find the Dragon Balls! Look out for them all!
Come and hunt those Dragon Balls with me.
Gotta heed the call of magic Dragon Balls!
What a great adventure this will be.
Set a course for action, adventure doesn't wait!
A fantastic journey for your dreams -- a thrilling mystery!
As you can see..neither one really sounds too identical to the other. If anything, the Harmony Gold and FUNimation openings are just doing their own versions of Makafushigi Adventure.
And ain't it funny how the Saban/FUNi opening seems to have way more scenes from the first movie than the actual series to make it look action packed? XD

Strange....if so, then RetroJunk doesn't seem to play the Harmony Gold one....both Intros 1 and 2 play only the FUNI version (how is this? I hear the nimbus reference, and the fact they sound THE EXACT SAME)
Oh well, I'll try GT now.
EDIT: I tried Dragon Ball once again. It definately plays the FUNI one for both Intros for me -_-...I'll just search Google for now

Either click on "Intro 1" again, refresh the page, or open a new window because the Harmony Gold intro is definately there (although I know what you're talking about, it's screwed up for me before). You'll know you're hearing it once it starts because it uses the original karaoke-version BGM for the intro (FUNi re-scored the music for their version).Eclipse wrote:Strange....if so, then RetroJunk doesn't seem to play the Harmony Gold one....both Intros 1 and 2 play only the FUNI version (how is this? Saban never had anything to do with DragonBall, the '95 dub is pure FUNimation.Tsukento wrote:Saban/FUNimation Opening:
I'm pretty sure their rights just expired. FUNimation bought DB straight from Toei, I doubt they ever had anything to do with Harmony Gold. As for stealing/borrowing the intro from Harmony Gold...it's just an English version of Makafushigi Adventure, I don't see how you can credit either FUNi or Harmony with anything.Son Goku wrote:I wouldn't call it stealing so much as borrowing (that IS the company that they bought the license off of. If only they had bought Dr. Slump from Harmony Gold as well...).
Anyways, I'm shocked so many people don't know about RetroJunk. If I knew the site was so obscure, I would've posted about it a long time ago (although these DB intros are fairly new additions, after they overhauled the database back during the summer).
The complete DragonBall archive...Believe.

Yeah, it's kinda confusing because it actually plays intro 2, which is the FUNi version, first, not intro 1 (the harmony gold version).DBW wrote:Either click on "Intro 1" again, refresh the page, or open a new window because the Harmony Gold intro is definately there (although I know what you're talking about, it's screwed up for me before).
