I'm a bit curious, let's say that for some reason VegettoEX and co gave ownership of the forum and all the responsibility that comes with it over to you. How would you run the forum? I would definitely keep the spelling and grammar rule. I would allow pictures in peoples signatures but only below a certain size and only one per signature and the option to turn them off for people who don't want to see them. I would change the user ranks to things related to Dragonball. I would change the rules on necro posting, Unless there is a HUGE time gap between now and the last time someone posted necro posting would be allowed to avoid having multiple threads with the same subject unless it's a thread that's discussing an announcement to avoid people going "oh is there an update?" (i.e the Ocean Kai dub thread). If a thread is created with a subject that already exists it would simply be merged with the old thread.

Maybe liven it up with a little more colour perhaps. I've been on a few sites that allow you to customize your own colour scheme. I think that would be cool.

I'd probably keep it relatively the same.....really. I just can't think of anything I'd want to implement. I wouldn't even want an off topic forum since it would be counter productive to the community they've harbored.

Yes please. I love talking about dragon ball, but it would be nice to have a little side off topic forum for dragon ball fans to discuss other things.

But in all seriousness, there really aren't any major problems that I have with the way this forum's run. Apart from YouTube, this is where I live on the internet.

They had this on the the old MyFavouriteGames forum...it dominated most of the activity on that website. Honestly, I really wouldn't want anything like that. In my opinion, it would give the impression that this is a "power level" oriented community when it's really not like that. That's what sets Kanzenshuu apart from other DB forums that I've visited. Besides I doubt VegettoEX would allow anything like that, if the older podcast episodes are anything to go by.

It's not like a versus subforum would reduce the activity in other areas. If it becomes one of the most active parts of the site, that just shows what the people want.

I would only make an off topic area(s) if there was enough demand for it, though I would definitely get rid of the old chat room thing and install something like it at the bottom of the forum.

People always say things like "it would cause focus to shift away from DB." and "the forum would be ruined" Well I've visited/joined a lot of forums and pretty much all of them have had some kind of off topic section and they all still focus on the main subject with a strong community.

I would definately get rid of the name filter, not for me, but for others who I can completely accept if they choose to use a certain name, even if it annoys me. I would also introduce a sort of rate a comment thing: so if someone posted something funny, you could label it as that, or if you agree with what someone is saying, click agree. It's a system that works well in a forum about the football (soccer) club I support. I would have an off-topic section if people wanted it.

That is probably the only thing I'd change.

I've been to a lot of forums in the past 8 or so (Man, I'm old) years, and I used to think an off-topic board would be great here. But the best thing about this forum is that it is, first and above all else, a Dragon Ball forum. No spam sections, no "What are you listening to?" threads, or anything like that. And I firmly believe that's a huge part of why it's still thriving today, even though every other forum I've been on has died out. Luckily for the Dragon Ball fandom, there seems to ALWAYS be some kind of news or material coming out for us to talk about, and even during the slow times we can entertain ourselves enough with other discussions about the series. There's a few off-topic tangents here-and-there scattered throughout the threads, but I feel that's really all we need. The mods aren't very strict about it, and we're usually pretty good at re-railing the topic ourselves. We even tried having a completely "off-topic" board once and it bombed. If anything ,we still have the IIRC chat (Although I think it'd be better to start up a group chat on Skype, in fact, I may start a thread for that soon). But having an Intro forum again for new people to be welcomed would be nice, IMO. And notifications if someone quotes you in a thread.

You know it's funny, I think I agree on this. For a forum that once had a harsh rep about being no-nonsense fun police, things are pretty lax around here.
