Why do people want Tenkaichi 2 HD & Tenkaichi 3 HD?
Today I bought Tenkaichi 2 for PS2 and before playing it again after many years I thought to myself that I'd enjoy it but turns out it was actually pretty disappointing, that nostalgia just wasn't there and the game felt outdated. Tenkaichi 3 too, damn, maybe I'm getting too old for these games.
Hopefully Namco Bandai doesn't go back to the Budokai Tenkaichi series, or at least not the old ones because we don't need another HD Collection which is just publishers and developers being lazy and use it rather than produce a new game.

Re: Why do people want Tenkaichi 2 HD & Tenkaichi 3 HD?
I think the Sparking games are popular with most fans in the US which is why people want a HD collection so badly. I always found those games to be too simple compare to the Budokai series in my opinion. The third game might be worth re-playing again for the large character collection, but that's about it.

They need to get the HD treatment because they're great games which simulate the action packed adrenaline feel of the show the best. Also I would love to play the series' score in the background when playing them.

Tenkaichi 2 & Tenkaichi 3 are okay games, and normally the ones to make it to HD Collection editions are good games not averagely low quality titles. T2 & T3 have more quantity than quality, and everyone knows it.InfernalVegito wrote:They need to get the HD treatment because they're great games which simulate the action packed adrenaline feel of the show the best. And to be frank, we already have Raging Blast 2 which simulates the series greatly and plays a lot better than the old engine. Also the music's fantastic (Yamamoto).

No. You know it. That's your opinion.dbboxkaifan wrote:T2 & T3 have more quantity than quality, and everyone knows it.
There are things that are worse in RB2 than in BT3 depending on what you expect. If you say they play better overall then that's again your opinion. The music is again a matter of taste.dbboxkaifan wrote:And to be frank, we already have Raging Blast 2 which simulates the series greatly and plays a lot better than the old engine. Re: Why do people want Tenkaichi 2 HD & Tenkaichi 3 HD?
It's a fact that Tenkaichi 3 has quantity over quality, and it's very noticeable. Whichever character is picked they all play the same and the blasts are equally the same too.No. You know it. That's your opinion.
Spike decided to put their little effort to the less important part of the game, than where it mattered. Gameplay.

Re: Why do people want Tenkaichi 2 HD & Tenkaichi 3 HD?
No it's not a fact. It depends on how you look at it. Yes, most of the characters have stock attacks and play rougly the same. That goes for the Budokai games as well. However, that doesn't make the game inherently bad. They can improve upon those things if they decide to continue making these games.
I am not saying these games are perfect, hell none is. But they have aspects in them which make them good. Again, depending on what you want from those games.

Re: Why do people want Tenkaichi 2 HD & Tenkaichi 3 HD?
Well, there's a lot of room for improvement but doing so in an old game wouldn't do much good because people would assume it'd be the same as the original game with better graphics. Spike should try their best effort with the new Dragon Ball game if they're this year's DB dev for 360/PS3.
I do wish their games were called "Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi" rather than "Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi".

Re: Why do people want Tenkaichi 2 HD & Tenkaichi 3 HD?
Did Budokai 1 and 3 need HD ports? Budokai 1 at least is almost on part with the original Tenkaichi barring the storymode IMO. The only good things IMO about Budokai 3 was the gameplay depth, I found the story-mode was boring, and Hyper Mode and Dragon Rush almost ruin it. I can't go back to the older games after playing IW (despite Aura Burst or whatever).
Hell, Legacy of Goku II is my favourite Dragonball game. I'd rather some other than Tenkaichi/Sparking or Budokai.
That being said, I'd rather have a new game than a HD port of an older one.
Sorry, but it really is opinion. I think BT3 does a have a lot of quantity it also has a lot of quality- a large amount of stages, beam vs ball struggles, better visuals, each character has at least one unique blast or rush (there are some other TINY differences too- but I do think the characters play more than 75% the same), some cool modes like survival, sim-dragon... Not to mention the gameplay does feel like you are playing the show albit not on the same scale. It's a fact that Tenkaichi 3 has quantity over quality, and it's very noticeable. Whichever character is picked they all play the same and the blasts are equally the same too.

It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

I have to agree, T2 & T3 have a lot more quantity than quality. They still have quality that shows.dbboxkaifan wrote:Tenkaichi 2 & Tenkaichi 3 are okay games, and normally the ones to make it to HD Collection editions are good games not averagely low quality titles. Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

You can tell by the skips in the story mode that they rushed it while they obviously spent it elsewhere unnecessarily (clones of characters), although Tenkaichi 3 covers DB > DBZ > DBGT > Films/Specials and Dr. Slump and Arale-chan there's still a lot missing that should've been there (specifically for the three DB series).

Of course. If they're given the appropriate amount of time, I'm sure they could improve upon all those aspects.

Re: Why do people want Tenkaichi 2 HD & Tenkaichi 3 HD?
I think it was confirmed that the Tenkaichi games wouldn't be getting a HD re-release.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!
Re: Why do people want Tenkaichi 2 HD & Tenkaichi 3 HD?
Do you only play story-mode though? I only play it if you have to to play through it to unlock characters or capsules or whatnot. After it's all done, I usually never go back to storymode.dbboxkaifan wrote:You can tell by the skips in the story mode that they rushed it while they obviously spent it elsewhere unnecessarily (clones of characters), although Tenkaichi 3 covers DB > DBZ > DBGT > Films/Specials and Dr. Slump and Arale-chan there's still a lot missing that should've been there (specifically for the three DB series).

I'm the same. The other modes hold way more interest to me.DBZ Mick wrote:Do you only play story-mode though? And really, if the story mode covered absolutely everything, then you'd have probably complaining that it's "too much!" or just the "same thing we've seen over and over!"
Re: Why do people want Tenkaichi 2 HD & Tenkaichi 3 HD?
I typically only play Story Mode until I've completed it, but I still appreciate it being done well.

Re: Why do people want Tenkaichi 2 HD & Tenkaichi 3 HD?
The story mode wasn't the only flaw, the gameplay was an even bigger disappointment because it was broken and wouldn't work well. Camera's got its annoying turns too.
Budokai 3 deserved an HD treatment because it's one of Dragon Ball's best video game, and games by Dimps aren't something to despise. Dimps develops high quality games, Spike on the other hand is like Omega Force just reskins the games with slight changes.

That's your opinion. I don't see the Tenkaichi games in question as any worse than Budokai 3, just very different. If I want to play a standard fighting game, I will. I don't play the Tenakichi games for that.dbboxkaifan wrote:The story mode wasn't the only flaw, the gameplay was an even bigger disappointment because it was broken and wouldn't work well. People want Tenkaichi 2 HD and Tenkaichi 3 HD because people want to play Tenkaichi 2 and Tenkaichi 3 in HD.
It`s pretty simple, really xD
They want to play the games THEY LIKE in HD.

Re: Why do people want Tenkaichi 2 HD & Tenkaichi 3 HD?
I agree. I especially liked B2's because it was something different and fresh. B1's was good for it's cinematics... IW was good for it's mini games if repetitive.I typically only play Story Mode until I've completed it, but I still appreciate it being done well.
And it really took Dimps 2 sequels until it got there as well, until the gameplay was refined enough...not just Tenkaichi/Sparking (which I felt BT3 was the best although it cut some good features of BT2). But B3 still had it's issues (major) as well. Storymode got boring pretty quick, Hyper Mode was terrible and rendered a lot of ultimates useless in competitive play, B3's Dragon Rush has no place in a fighting game....but then IW refined it even further (although it had a major flaw in the Aura Burst and lack of modes). And don't get me wrong I like Dimps a lot but I think both Spike and Dimps have had their ups and downs. I myself prefer as mentioned Webfoot's Legacy of Goku games and that trilogy started off mediocre to say the least as well.Budokai 3 deserved an HD treatment because it's one of Dragon Ball's best video game, and games by Dimps aren't something to despise. If we want to use your way, BT3/Sparking Meteor is apparently the highest selling Dragonball game...so I see no-reason it doesn't deserve a HD port as well. And it has plenty of fans.
