DBZ games for the PC?
What are the chances we'll ever get any of the current gen console DBZ games on the PC? It would be really cool to take advantage of the higher quality graphics the PC has to offer over the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Re: DBZ games for the PC?
At this stage it's really late but you always have the option of playing DBZ games with the emulators of PS2/Wii, though, you'll need to own an authentic copy of the games. The Wii emulator, i.e, Dolphin doesn't always play all Wii disc games, unfortunately.
I tried playing Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo disc on a laptop highly capable of playing it on the Dolphin but it just wouldn't recognise it at all, and my only alternative was to download a backup but I didn't want that so I just went back to the console.

Re: DBZ games for the PC?
I guess for a fighting game series such as DBZ it's better to be played on a console than a PC. It be cool if Namco Bandai was open to porting future console DBZ releases on the PC as well. But maybe there really isn't an incentive for doing so, if they don't see the PC as a profitable opportunity then they might not do it. That's my guess on why they haven't done it yet

There is that Half Life 1 mod, Earth's Special Forces (another release still in development). And a game made with the quake 3 engine, Zeq2. They are both simulator type, third person shooter kinda games. Google 'em, they are ok for what they are.

Re: DBZ games for the PC?
I don't think there's a market for DBZ games on the PC. From what I've seen, I doubt there are many people on steam would buy a DBZ game.

Re: DBZ games for the PC?
That's probably why. Unless DBZ games start picking up huge sales there's a chance but I don't think they'll be as big as they were during the PS2 era ever again.....Hellspawn28 wrote:I don't think there a market for DBZ games on the PC. Also is PC gaming even that popular in Japan?

Dating sims and eroge, yes. MMOs, FPSes, and Strategy games? Not really.Hellspawn28 wrote:Also is PC gaming even that popular in Japan?
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.
Re: DBZ games for the PC?
It is possible to dump a Wii disc to your PC, thus eliminating that issue.dbboxkaifan wrote:At this stage it's really late but you always have the option of playing DBZ games with the emulators of PS2/Wii, though, you'll need to own an authentic copy of the games. I doubt we'll ever get a major DB game for the PC aside from DB Online. Maybe once there is a 3DS emulator we'll have a way to play DB Heroes.

Re: DBZ games for the PC?
Running these games in a resolution that would make my eyes bleed, and adding more AA than I thought was possible isn't suddenly going to make them good.

Re: DBZ games for the PC?
DBZ games on consoles will sell better since those type of games work better on consoles. I doubt a PC DBZ game will sell well since I don't think most DBZ fans have a PC that can support gaming. From what I've been told that most console gamers don't have the well drive to play PC games at the same level.

Re: DBZ games for the PC?
That is true, Dragon Ball has always been a console game just like Rockstar games, even though R* releases PC versions their main market + audience are the console gamers.
Red Dead Redemption & LA Noire are console exclusives, I think PC gamers are still waiting for RDR to come out on PC.

That's sort of news because I was always only aware that it was released for 360/PS3 and not PC.pandamix wrote:LA Noire is available on PC
Anyway, the best way to play Wii games and avoid the gimmick crap controls of Wiimote it's to play it via PC, but I haven't yet tried it out. I'm a bit upset that Zelda Skyward can't be played with a GameCube/Wii normal controller.

Re: DBZ games for the PC?
As someone has already mentioned, Earth's Special Forces is one of the possibilities. In my opinion it is really the only quality alternative to the console titles. The final version is still under development but it looks quite promising: http://youtu.be/v9gG9kitVkg

Oh yeah. Online is definitely an interesting one. Haven't played in forever though, my PC is so busted...

Re: DBZ games for the PC?
Wasn't there a Dragon Ball Z movie editor game for PC or was that for some Bandai console?

Is that game even complete yet? If so what's the roster looking like? Does it go from DBZ all the way to GT?Zeymah wrote:As someone has already mentioned, Earth's Special Forces is one of the possibilities.
