Budokai 3 for Gamecube
It may simply be too soon to know, but perhaps I'm sitting in the shadow of ignorance and just don't know it . . .
So with that being said, any chance anyone here knows of a release date for the Gamecube version of Budokai 3? While I'm sure it's imminent, I just haven't heard anything and can't find any information at all.

I feel bad for you Gamecubers, us Ps2ers got Budokai Tenkaichi AND a $20 CE of Budokai 3, yet you guys don't even have a confirmation for a regular Budokai 3 release, not to mention Sagas being your only source for Broly and Bardock.

I believe it comes to the GameCube late this November. And the GC copy will more than likely have everything the GH PS2 version is going to have.
Don't feel too bad for them, the GC versions of Budokai 1 and 2 both had extra content that the PS2 versions didn't.
And Broly and Bardock stink like something really stinky.

The GC version destroyed the 3D graphics and replaced the shadowing with messed up colors. You can call that a bonus feature if you want tooChaos Saiyajin wrote:They did? B1 for the GC had Cel Shading to a slight degree. B2 had a battle damaged Goku Gi, Cell Games tournament rules, and some new capsules (like the Sparking! caps).Chaos Saiyajin wrote:They did? That was supposed to be cel-shading? I thought it was just that the GC was under powered and couldn't handle 3D graphics like that.Xyex wrote:B1 for the GC had Cel Shading to a slight degree. I've said it once, I'll say it again. The Gamecube is a more powerful machine than the PS2. I'm positive that it can "handle" a game like Budokai, especially considering there are WAY more graphically intense games on the platform that can back me up. I agree that the Gamecube version doesn't look as good as its PS2 counterpart. It's probably due to the fact that they decided to revamp everything to make cel-shaded, all the while being rushed to get it out on the shelves.gotenx wrote:That was supposed to be cel-shading? I'm no expert on video game systems but the GamCube does seem to be more powerful than the PS2. Just look at Resident Evil 4 on the GCN and the newly released PS2 version. The PS2 version looks pretty sad next to the GCN one. I for one never had any problems with the graphics in Budokai 1. They weren't overly amazing but they were good enough for a first attempt.
In regards to GCN version of Budokai 3, I would kill for it. Kill, Dammit. Kill

Well it is more powerful simply because it's newer technology. Not because Nintendo's got more "mad skillz" or something. XD (Although they do in my opinion)
As to B3 on the 'cube, I'm not going to hold my breath for it. This time last year the announcement of B2 for the GC was already an old news item.

You're kidding me. Are you saying there's a possibility that there won't even be a release? . . . because that would piss me off in five freakin' dimensions, which would likely be followed by girlie-man tears.Pedro the Hutt wrote:As to B3 on the 'cube, I'm not going to hold my breath for it. Says an Atari rep. that supposedly posted on the US Atari boards a few months ago to answer some guy's question.
EDIT:
This was meant to seem stupid and funny (not really funny, i know), not to be an inteligent and informative statement. I was just making fun of what some other guy said on the US Atari boards.

How well have the previous two sold on the GC? I know that by this point last year, Budokai 1 could be found for about $12, but Budokai 2 is still at it's release price of $30 at my local WalMart.
I really do hope we get a GC release of the third one though. I'm not the biggest fan of my PS2, but if I don't hear of a GC release, I'll pick up the GH edition of Budokai 3.

I'd advise for the "Greatest Hits" edition of Budokai 3, it's only $20, is including the Japanese VAs, and most likley all the other extra features from the European "Collectors' Edition". While with the Gamecube Budokai 3, it may either just be the original released version from last year, or not come out at all, so I'm advising for the GH PS2 release. Better safe than sorry.Hao_Kaiser wrote:How well have the previous two sold on the GC? Well, of course I would get the GH version if I was to get it for PS2, I'd just rather wait to hear any word on a GC release, as that is my prefered console And well, wait for a used copy of the GH edition to turn up so I can use my "crazy cool" EBEdge card.Conan the SSJ wrote: I'd advise for the "Greatest Hits" edition of Budokai 3, it's only $20, is including the Japanese VAs, and most likley all the other extra features from the European "Collectors' Edition".
