Tenshinhan's Kikoho
Tenshinhan's Kikoho
Yes this is a pushy subject, but with his Kikoho being able to repel Semi Perfect Cell is a good feat (Yes I know Cell took no damage, but he still was trapped by the technique constantly hitting him). Would he able to kill someone like Freeza who is a lot weaker with it. I can't imagine it. But if it's effective against Semi Perfect Cell, wouldn't it be vastly more effective on people a lot weaker.

No. Tenshinhan's Kikoho couldn't hurt Nappa, whom was less than 3x stronger than Tenshinhan.
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

I'm guessing no, seeing as he never even bothered trying it on the androids.

Re: Tenshinhan's Kikoho
I'm also gonna say no. All it did was push. It has no damage feats at all.
Its pushing power and power power are obviously separate- think about it: if POWER was what was allowing it to push Cell, shouldn't he have been just a little damaged by being hit by a hundred of the damn things?

Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Re: Tenshinhan's Kikoho
This. I bet if Vegeta or Goku did this while in base or at least SSJ(Before they got SSJ power ups or master it) they would have costed a least a little bit of damage. They made Tien look like a weak ass. Why didn't he just use kiai? You would think an attack that uses LIFEFORCE would be one of the strongest attacks in the franchise.dbzfan7 wrote:I always thought it was Plot Induced Stupidity and inconsistent.

Dangit people, stop using "it's" in place of "its" it IS bothering me to see you people incorrectly using the word
. ITS also distracting.
Anywho, what with Cell being probably maybe debatably I dunno somehow possibly almost ten times stronger than Freeza maybe at least, it's possible it could do damage. Something someone very superior was pissed off about and couldn't escape should be able to at least damage someone much weaker.

Re: Tenshinhan's Kikoho
We still can't say for sure, because this move has no damage feats at all, and we don't know what the minimum gap for pushing something is.

Did you miss the maybe possibly could somehow probably?
Re: Tenshinhan's Kikoho
Tee hee. "PUSHY subject." Kikoho. Pushing things. Tee hee.
Uh, anyway... what RandomGuy96 pointed out is pretty much the way I figure it too. The Kikoho is a powerful attack, to be sure, but it's still just Tenshinhan's own ki being amplified. It's not so powerful that it could actually injure someone tens or hundreds of times stronger than Ten himself, much less kill them. That'd include Freeza, the Androids, and so forth. As was already pointed out, it didn't even hurt Nappa, who even with Ten gravely injured at the time and only using one hand, wouldn't have been any more than 4-5 times stronger than him.
What the attack seemingly CAN do, however, is put out enough sheer concussive force to push around and inhibit the movements of whatever foe it hits, even if the amount of energy behind it can't actually hurt them. Which makes a lot of sense given its position as the king of all shockwave/kiai-type techniques. This not only let Tenshinhan use the attack to temporarily push back Cell, but later he apparently used it to even intercept and detonate an attack from Majin Boo.
In a nutshell, it seems to be a special property of the attack that makes it so useful, rather than the power of the user or the attack's degree of ki amplification. Similar to how Kuririn can slice opponents leagues stronger than himself with the Kienzan because of how the attack is formed.

Re: Tenshinhan's Kikoho
The Kikoho Tienshinhan used against Nappa and the one used against Cell are two different Kikoho's though, right? It changed to Shin Kikoho didn't it and it is vastly more powerful? I can understand why Tienshinhan changed his Kikoho as his power probably could never catch up to the Saiyan's so modifying his techniques is the next best thing.
Re: Tenshinhan's Kikoho
It's a little unclear just how the Shin Kikoho differs from the regular one. As far as I can remember, one volume of the Daizenshuu say it "increases the force" of the attack, while another simply says that it's a rapid-fire version of the Kikoho.

Re: Tenshinhan's Kikoho
Combine them? The multiple Kikoho increases the force of the attack. I'm going no where with this lolKaboom wrote:It's a little unclear just how the Shin Kikoho differs from the regular one. Re: Tenshinhan's Kikoho
Is force not indicative of the sheer power behind the technique? Or is it literal pushing force? Do you know if the word used has more meaning in Japanese? Because as you know there are words that are generally lose meaning when translated. Like the 'ya' when Cell mentions Vegeta and Trunks which is exhaustive and could mean them plus other people.Kaboom wrote:It's a little unclear just how the Shin Kikoho differs from the regular one. Re: Tenshinhan's Kikoho
If Tenshinhan's Kikoho is able to push Cell, it should be able to push the androids to another galaxy xD
Re: Tenshinhan's Kikoho
Base Trunks pushed Imperfect Cell outside of the town with a kiai. Saying Tenshinhan could kill the Androids with his Shin Kikoho is like saying base Trunks could kiai the Androids to death.

Re: Tenshinhan's Kikoho
To be fair, Cell didn't expect the Kiai, lol. Tienshinhan was consistently holding Cell back with his Shin Kikoho. It wasn't like Trunks was continuously bashing him with the same technique over and over again or Cell would have easily gone through the others. It is like saying SSJ Kid Trunks is the strongest SSJ because he managed to kick Majin Boo flying, Majin Boo was not prepared for the kick.Saiga wrote:Base Trunks pushed Imperfect Cell outside of the town with a kiai. Re: Tenshinhan's Kikoho
I don't think Cell was expecting the Kikoho either, and I don't think he'd be able to react any better to repeatedly fired attacks.

That would be badass to see someone kiai someone to death.Saiga wrote:Base Trunks pushed Imperfect Cell outside of the town with a kiai. Saying Tenshinhan could kill the Androids with his Shin Kikoho is like saying base Trunks could kiai the Androids to death.
Re: Tenshinhan's Kikoho
I doubt it would work like that.. That is like saying SSJ Kid Trunks could repeatedly kick Majin Boo in the face and get the same desired effect. After the first kick Majin Boo sure isn't going to take the next one lying down. It is the same for Cell. It is fair enough if Tienshinhan only fired one. It is understandable that Cell would be taken back by a single Kikoho. But multiple? I don't think so. Cell was being held back by a technique with enough force to hold him back. Cell even says after that he is disgusted that such a weakling held him back. Surprise attacks only work once or twice. Cell was hit with several Kikoho so he should have expected them after the third or fourth attack onwards.Saiga wrote:I don't think Cell was expecting the Kikoho either, and I don't think he'd be able to react any better to repeatedly fired attacks.
