Would you pay extra money for the Original OST of the games?

Post by TheGmGoken » Sun Jun 30, 2013 12:53 am

Quite sad that international fans have to get at times shitty BGM(Tenkaich 3 ex) for the games while Japan gets the great OST from the series just a little different. Say Battle of Z is like this which I'm sure it is. Let's say this is the price. Battle of Z - 60$.
Would you pay extra say for a special limited time release called the Battle of Z - Original OST version with a price of 65 - 73$. I'm not counting tax. Say every game got this. Would you buy it. Prices from Gamestop.com http://www.gamestop.com/browse?nav=16k- ... ball,28zu0

I would pay for Kenji Yamamoto to return in the newer games. His OSTs were always awesome T_T

But yeah, i would pay for the Japanese remastered ost too. It sounds really awesome, and i like the choices they did, especially in RB2 and UT.

Also, what is Budokai 3 HD Original Ost? Kenji or Shunsuke? And is it real, or some edited version =/ ?

I would've bought a Soundtrack CD of the redone Kikuchi music composed for the Japanese editions of the Sparking! and Raging Blast series, but the only way to get that music is through rips of the game audio.

But if an official CD of those tracks were ever released... *preorder*

I tend to focus on the gameplay because it's the most important aspect of a game, and then move to other things, if the gameplay doesn't suit me:

A) Back to the shelf and never play it
B) Sell it

I went with option B for Ultimate Tenkaichi and I don't regret it.

Anyway, I can just load up DBZ music through my USB/HDD so I wouldn't pay more than I already did, that's like selling the game and then having day one DLC which is bullshit because it belongs with the game.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

I never gave a shit and still don't about Yamamoto's plagiarism. He took existing work and made them all his own. He was still a fantastic arranger and he still did some great tracks that weren't plagiarized. The OST's to Super Butouden 1/2 and the Budokai games are just magic. :)

I feel the same way. Even much of though Yamamoto's later works copied existing artists, he still put his own spin on the arrangement, and I still enjoyed many of those tracks and will listen to them indefinitely.

That said, they made a good call by letting Yamamoto go. I look forward to hearing some newer composers' takes on the Dragon Ball franchise.

Maybe we should start a petition (better than doing nothing) and ask the developers to put the original music as DLC, they did it with the Japanese Voice overs for Soul Sacrifice. it worked like a charm.

AB Groupe apparently owns the rights of the Kikuchi music in Europe and demands too much money so this is what's stopping them from having the original soundtrack on the western releases of DBZ games.

The more I think about this, the more I wonder how much of it is actually true.

As far as the actual topic, I have the japanese copies of Sparking Meteor and Raging Blast 1. The experience of playing with and without the Kikuchi music is different to the point where, yes, I would pay extra to not have to buy the game again to get it.
