Who would you like to see animating new Dragon Ball?
DBZ has and always was animated on the cheap for the most part (maybe Battle of Gods is an exception, but considering how much it made back it could still be considered made on the cheap.) I figured this would be a nice topic to discuss considering that there have been discussion on 'New vs. Old Art styles' but no specfic topic regarding a 'Dream Team' of animators. The likes of Naotoshi Shida would be nice to see consistently running new Dragon Ball productions. This is mostly a hypothetical topic since I doubt Toei would wanna spend too much considering that they want to make as much money as possible doing the cheapest route (don't blame them, but it sucks from a fan standpoint.)
So, pretty much for a reanimated version of the story or a new special movie made with a big budget who do you want to work on the animation?

Kyoto Animation would be good. They always release great animation.
Is it possible to watch DBZ with epilepsy?

I have yet to see BoG but I really do enjoy the way the scenes in Ultimate Tenkaichi were done

I don't have any names, but the fluid movement characters in Kyoto Animation's works move with really appeal to me. I'd like to temp port some of those animators over.

Re: Who would you like to see animating new Dragon Ball?
Obviously it is impossible to spread too many high-talented animators on a series, so I'll try to include a few "Rolling with the blows" teams
All-Stars: a mix of in-house and freelance animators. Realistically speaking, a team of such magnitude would likely not be possible more than once every three months.
Episode Director/Storyboard: Shida Naotoshi or Tanaka Hironori (if possible).
Key Animators: Shida Naotoshi, Tanaka Hironori, other available talented animators.
Tate Naoki/Oonishi Ryou: a team where Tate and Oonishi are obviously the leading stars everyone talks about! I figure any of the other animators included would be those most familiar with Tate Naoki and his work.
Average:
Animation Supervisor: Hakamada Yuuji: Hakamada was an animation supervisor and key animator on Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT. As of recent he's been doing the same for Toriko, but if his schedule ever freed up he would certainly be good for leading an average team.
This Might be Trouble:
Yokoyama Kenji: Yokoyama was a key animator for Dragon Ball Z episode #102. He also acts as an animation supervisor and key animator for One Piece, often key animating entire episodes himself. I think Yokoyama would work best as an animation supervisor and key animator for talkative episodes. He would probably wind up doing many solo episodes, but it will help buy time for the better teams.
Obviously a new series would require many more teams in the rotation than this, but this is what I could think up quickly.

Nobody.
It's enough, already. After they finish the Buu arc for Kai, just let the franchise rest.

He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

If we break from Toei Animation, I would definitely have to say Studio Pierrot would be the go-to studio. Naruto and Bleach have proven that they have not only the budgeting and scheduling prowess, but also the talent and connections to make a really awesome episode.

Bleach and Naruto animations. They're my favorite to be honest. They're not over the top compared to most anime now a days and will love to see them animate DBZ. They're also more consistent ten Toei.
P.S.: Lots of animation-art work threads lately.

Do you not remember 6 Tail Naruto vs Pein? One of the single most disappointing fights in all of anime history.TheGmGoken wrote:Bleach and Naruto animations. They're my favorite to be honest. And you say you want this animation company to handle DBZ? No, just...no.

Re: Who would you like to see animating new Dragon Ball?
I ignore Pain vs Naruto as I believe they was high from weed while animating that fight. So it's an unfair rule. Better than Vegeta's awkward head and body during the scene with the Nameks.
Re: Who would you like to see animating new Dragon Ball?
They're Tadayoshi Yamamuro, Naotoshi Shida, Kazuya Hisada, and Masahiro Shimanuki, who all have been being involved with Dragon Ball since the original series.KentalSSJ6 wrote:The animator or animators of the Budokai 2 and/or 3 opening.

Re: Who would you like to see animating new Dragon Ball?
I think it boils down to the animator rather than the animation. Ill link some videos of various Japanese animators for you all and you can decide amongst yourselfs who would be suited for the task. Personally id say whoever animated the Rock Lee fight from the 3rd Naruto Movie. (Sorry the gif is abit sped up)

I mean come on, can you imagine if all DBZ fights were like that?

All of these I already saw

Re: Who would you like to see animating new Dragon Ball?
That episode had great animation, the character models were just off. They're similar (or the same...?) to the studios that did things like Naruto 133, and One Piece Movie 6.KentalSSJ6 wrote:

*snip*

As for the topic, I'd love a compilation of shorts from different studios akin to Halo: Legends, Barman: Gotham Knight, or The Animatrix.
