The Rebirth Of DBZ: A New Series?
Considering the Battle Of Gods movie did really well in both fan reception and selling tickets, do you think this movie has given life to the possibility of a new series? Personally, I'd be really interested in a new series continuing three years from when the movie left off. Also, even though AT has said before he wouldn't be interested in doing a new series, do you think he might have maybe changed his mind after doing the movie?

No.
Though the thought of a new series is indeed intriguing, I'm pretty positive that the most we'll see is a new special/OVA/movie every couple of years.
Basically what they've been doing since 2008 with the Jump Special, Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans, Episode of Bardock, and most recently, Battle of Gods.

Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

To be honest, I'm not really feeling a completely new series. Movies like BoG are the way to go imo, because it was really enjoyable and the hype leading up to it only added to the experience. It would be great if they could release one movie each year, or even once every two years. BTW, isn't The Galactic Patrolman sort of a new DB series?

Re: The Rebirth Of DBZ: A New Series?
It wouldn't make sense to have a series set between BoG & the 28th TB arc, because it would contradict the fact that Goku didn't met Bulma (I mean, how can those two not meet each other in a whole series?!). So, maybe something between DBZ & GT would work better.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I really think this movie is a start of a new serie it explains so mutchs, Birisu sleeping only for 3 years, goku adapts without the god powers he can get mutch stronger,Piccolo saiying Birisu training goku,12 universes, Birisu saying there are more strong beings so goku is still faraway from fighting strong guys, vegeta ask goku to corperate next time for him to go ssjgod, birisu fighting 70%,en mutch more.
Toryama sensei should only make the story thats not as hard as making a whole manga by your self, i think they already done that birisu waking up 3 years thats a clue!

New series? Not likely. I mean, BoG did very well, and it feels like it's leading to something, but I think that we won't get a new series. A new series would be a dream for me, but I feel we'll get more movies, if anything.

I personally wouldn't want it. I love Battle of Gods and hope they make many more films in the upcoming years.

I think movies are too short to expand the story set by Battle of Gods.dodge2461 wrote:New series? Not likely. I would love a new series that expands upon the ideas set forth in Battle of Gods. My concern is that the series would be low priority for Toei and not receive the best possible staff on regular occasion like the first three series did.

I would like a new movie where Goku and Vegeta get SSJ God and beat Beers.
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

I don't know why people don't want another new show? I think a new show with AT being the producer would work. I mean I don't like GT as much as the next guy, but times have change. I think Toei could give us a new show that is good for once. Kai didn't do that great since it was nothing really new. It was the same show that we seen before with little filler. We need something new and fresh since it been so long since we had a real new show.

Again, I think they should do a series of movies-teratology?- which lead to Goku flying off with Oob in a new light.
Unless they do some short series. No 200+ series again.

It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.
Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

A series of movies would be great, if they don't overdo it. A TV series? No thank you.

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

I think a 40-60 episode series is good. They keep the writing fresh without the show getting old fast unlike DBZ. Riku Sanjo could be a good choice for a writer since he has work with Toei on the recent Digimon anime, Kamen Rider W (My favorite rider show of all time) and the newest Sentai show "Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger" (Electrobeast Squadron Dinosaurger).

Although I like Digimon, even 50 episodes was too much for them. Maybe if a new Dragonball series was planned out in advance.

I don't think that's ever going to happen, but it would be interesting to see.

Movie's and ovas sure. Another Series? No way. We already tried that and got GT which was lackluster.
