General Consensus About Cell

What is the general consensul about Cell's power, charaacter and shape? Is he a good character and liked by people here? He is my favorite

Cell used to be my favorite, but he was recently trumped by Freeza IMO. Beers is best overall though IMO. In terms of his design, he's, again, on of by not my all time favorite design. I think he's stronger than Movie 8 Broly in his Perfect Form, and I think he's barely stronger than Movie 10 Broly in his Super Perfect Form.

Cell is cool. The juxtaposition of his regal looks and his monster mentality is interesting. On paper, Freeza's a superior character, if only because his goals and desires stem from him as a person, while Cell is basically following orders(orders he gets a personal pleasure out of and enjoys carrying out, nonetheless). Cell is essentially a more menacing, mean-spirited version of Goku; completely dedicated to his craft, albeit to the harm of others. He never faced anyone powerful enough(that wasn't out to kill him) to see if that attitude could be changed and that ambition realigned, sadly. He was created to strive for perfection, but could he be reasoned with? Completely served his role as a villain.

Did I mention Cell was cool? He's got this green camouflage motif going on, and it's pleasing with all the black.

Yeah Cell being an evil Goku is an interesting parallel. That's one thing I like about him.

Perfect Cell = Boring.


Power. Should be stronger than everyone upto that point but weaker than Boo Arc Major villains

Perfect Cell is one of Toriyama's most unique designs.

I concur with this sentiment and offer due respect. Cell is to some degree a evil version of Gokuu and I wish that had been accentuated a little. Otherwise, there isn't much else to Cell's personality, save for Wakamoto Norio's performance of the character in Dragon Ball Z. Wakamoto took a simple character and elevated him to remarkability.

He's not my favorite but the idea that he is made from the cells of all of the Z-senshi and their enemies is a pretty cool concept.

Semi-Perfect Cell is my least favorite villain, at least from the manga, and that's including lesser henchmen like Piccolo's guys and Spopovich. What an ugly design and terrible personality; FUNimation didn't do him any favors with his constant crying and Vegeta-esque tantrums.

I enjoyed Perfect Cell, but Imperfect Cell was the coolest to me.

A character being cunning and sneaky is a trait that draws me to him.
I really liked Imperfect Cell, as well as the same traits making be like Freeza arc Vegeta.
Semi-Perfect Cell would be awesome if he wasn't quickly reduced to a punching bag of Vegeta's, and I didn't get to like him a lot.
Perfect Cell was IMO not that interesting as he had already reached his goal and didn't have any more motives other than being...Nega-Goku.

I also like Imperfect Cell more. Although he's a bit freaky (or gross, call it whatever you like) with those skinny arms and weird mouth, his design is just a little more interesting and something that Toriyama never did a lot (if I remember correctly). And in this form he's trying to achieve something - where in his perfect form he's like: "'kay achieved my goal- time to kick everyone else's butt!" (Like Godo said before me)

As for his semi-perfect form.... Weird, but still more interesting than his perfect form though (IMO)

I'm usually on the fence as to whether I like Freeza or Cell more but I am a huge fan of the character.

Imperfect Cell all day! Dude was cunning, sneaky, and always seemed to be ready for whatever. He knew when it was smart to stay out of the way, and he knew when it was time to fight. Don't care much for the other forms of Cell. I liked Super Perfect Cell, but he wasn't around long enough.
