Thanks. Ehh..I'm thinking 5-6, as well as showing him stuff like Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry, Avatar The Last Airbender, and other similar shows. Today's dumbed down kids shows wont be watched.

Don't forget the Legend of Korra! It's actually very good and one of the few times I can say a sequel does the original justice.

Agreed, thought I always found Korra to be more..teen centered rather than the more family like show of The Last Airbender. Both series are great but I think Avatar would be easier for him to follow and then Korra when hes abit older.

Not sure about this general time frame but when Kai was still being shown on Nicktoons my relatives (lots of little kids, I'm part Mexican :p) told me how much they loved to watch it. I also got to impress them with my Dragon Box sets.

I don't think it's mean or weird. Most of the shows directed at children have reached ridiculous levels of stupidity. Do these creators really think that all children now-a-days are complete and utter morons? There are plenty of shows on Cartoon Network or the like that are so outright dumb that I don't let my younger brother watch them. Apparently there is a new show on CN called Uncle Grandpa that he wanted to watch. Needless to say, it only took about 30 seconds before that intelligence insulting dreck was banned from our house. I have plenty of anime, including Dragon Ball, that I keep him busy with to keep his mind off modern garbage.

I seen a few, but not a whole lot. I don't think Kai is as popular to other kids show like Spongebob, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Power Rangers and Adventure TIme.

Who cares that its not as popular with kids as it was before. I think Nicktoons and Vortexx keep the franchise alive in the hearts of children.

To be fair, those two channels are not the most popular kids channels. I'm betting most kids don't have those channels at home. CW is also a bad channel for kids shows given that Dragon Knight bombed on that channel a few years back due to poor marketing. Yu-Gi-Oh does well on CW because there's always marketing for it. I still see tv ads for cards and cards still being sold at stores like Target. With Kai, I pretty much seen nothing in the past three or four years.
