Who is Goku's mother?
Some people say it's Fasha but, nothing has been confirmed. Who do you guys think is Goku's mom?

No one really special. She most likely had Radditz's hair and Goku's eyes.

True I always thought it was FashaHellspawn28 wrote:No one really special. She most likely had Radditz's hair and Goku's eyes.
Re: Who is Goku's mother?
While it's not a surefire way to figure out what she looked like (disclaimer) what I ended up doing was subtracting what physical appearance stuff Goku and Raditz did not inherit from Bardock; meaning whoever their mom is would have the female counterpart to the male type of eyes Toriyama draws for Goku (so the type of eyes blue-hair Lunch and Chi-Chi have) she'd be on the tall side so I put her at Bardock's height, maybe a tiny bit taller than him, and super-long hair similar to Raditz, but probably pulled up so it wouldn't get in her face and it would be easier for her to fight.

True and plus Saiyans had to have mother's right? I mean if they didn't then how were they born?Chuquita wrote:While it's not a surefire way to figure out what she looked like (disclaimer) what I ended up doing was subtracting what physical appearance stuff Goku and Raditz did not inherit from Bardock; meaning whoever their mom is would have the female counterpart to the male type of eyes Toriyama draws for Goku (so the type of eyes blue-hair Lunch and Chi-Chi have) she'd be on the tall side so I put her at Bardock's height, maybe a tiny bit taller than him, and super-long hair similar to Raditz, but probably pulled up so it wouldn't get in her face and it would be easier for her to fight.

If it were Selypa they would have mentioned it.

Re: Who is Goku's mother?
I'm sure as soon as she's identified, Toei will make her a Super Saiyan and slap her on another "new hat" Shining Sparking Budoukai VIII game for the Xbox 4 and PS8.
Order now and you'll get a terrible OVA to explain why. And then you can complain about how you don't like the "gay Jap voices" on YouTube and I can die a little inside.

I like to think Goku's mother's name is Dandelion, anyone saying otherwise is insane.

Re: Who is Goku's mother?
It's actually never said who Goku's mother is, but it's definitely not Selypa. Toei's "Saiyan family tree" specifically says that Selypa is nothing more than Bardock's partner...

My guess:

Oh nice one!
I was brainstorming for a DBZ fan manga and I was thinking about something similar like your drawing kei17. Definitely with Raditz hair! And I think I'm gonna name her Korn after Selypa's prototype

I was always curious about that as well, it never once ever mentioned her in the Bardock the father of Goku special which is odd in my opinion.

Theres a few designs I like for her.

Not to mention Hanasia from Multiverse. Not a fan of her name but the design is great.

It seems to be a shonen anime/manga cliche of one parent missing or not even mentioned at all. Yu-Gi-Oh, we see Surugoku's daughter-in-law about twice in the manga, but his son is never mentioned at all. Same with Mr. Ketchum. Is Delia a widow, divorced or what?

Well in Naruto and Bleach, we see both Ichigo's and Naruto's parents and both series plot have them as a central part of it.Super Sonic wrote:It seems to be a shonen anime/manga cliche of one parent missing or not even mentioned at all. In Ruruoni Kenshin we learn Kenshin's parents died when he was little.
I dont read/watch One Piece so I dont know anything about Luffy's parents.
Its not so much of a cliche as much as a convenient plot device. Though I admit we see next to no Saiyan women in DBZ. It would be interesting to see more about them and Saiyan culture in general.

Re: Who is Goku's mother?
With Naruto and Bleach that's a little different, and Kenshin is rather different due to being a period piece when one became a man at 15 and its protaganist being a 28 year-old man rather than a teenager or kid. As for Luffy, his mother hasn't been mentioned yet, but his father has, and that's a big spoiler for anyone who was only watching the Funimation dvds which hasn't gotten to that point yet.KentalSSJ6 wrote:Well in Naruto and Bleach, we see both Ichigo's and Naruto's parents and both series plot have them as a central part of it.Super Sonic wrote:It seems to be a shonen anime/manga cliche of one parent missing or not even mentioned at all.
