Favorite Sound Effect?
What is your favorite sound effect? Could be anything. For me, its...
The teleportation sound (Instant Transmission),
The energy ball charge (ex: Bardock's at the end of the TV special),
the one punching sound that always come with a heavy hit (Piccolo & 17 keep drilling each other in the stomach)

Either Cell walking, or when Cell does his various "buwhee/buwhaa" sounds.

Re: Favorite Sound Effect?
I like the sound of energy waves when they start charging up.
and the electricity sound when they go super saiyan 2 and 3.
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Re: Favorite Sound Effect?
The sound of shoes/boots touching the ground when a flying character lands. It's just a totally simple sound but you hear it so often throughout the series that it's almost a trademark of it IMO.

The aura sound, probably.
I'd love to know how that sound is made. Or really any of the sounds.

Energy waves and aura sounds.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

The Kaioken sound effect and the GOAT(Greatest of All Time) sound effect is that Oozaru sound effect when a Saiyan screams(Think Gohan turning SSj2 in JPN). Those two are awesome.

Zephyr wrote:The fandom's collective fetishizing of "moments" is also ridiculous to me. No, not everyone needs a fucking "shine" moment. If that's all you want, then all you want is fanservice, rather than an actual coherent story. And of course those aren't mutually exclusive; you could have a coherent story with "shine" moments! But if a story is perfectly coherent (and I'm really not seeing any compelling arguments that this one is anything but, despite constantly recurring, really poorly reasoned, attempts to argue otherwise), and you're bemoaning the lack of "shine" moments as a reason for the story's poor quality, then you're letting your thirst for "shine" moments obfuscate your ability to detect basic storytelling when it's right in front of you.

Re: Favorite Sound Effect?
I've already covered my answer in another thread but the sound effects of many of the monsters/villains walking around is my favorite (i.e. Cell).
Kyle Broflovski wrote:It's all real. Think about it. Haven't Luke Skywalker and Santa Claus affected your lives more than most real people in this room? I mean, whether Jesus is real or not, he - he's had a bigger impact on the world than any of us have. And the same can be said for Bugs Bunny and - and Superman and Harry Potter. They've changed my life - changed the way I act on the earth. Doesn't that make them kind of real? They might be imaginary but, but they're more important than most of us here. And they're all gonna be around here long after we're dead. So, in a way, those things are more realer than any of us.
Re: Favorite Sound Effect?
Another one of my favorites is when a character is really surprised and it goes like DUN DUNN

The "Oh Shit!" sound effect that plays whenever a character gets surprised or comes to some kind of startling realization.

Re: Favorite Sound Effect?
The HUGE impact sound. Plays a lot when Piccolo was fighting Freeza's second form. It's a BOOM then a slight echo.
