1. Did they ever release a picture of the concept art for the original SSJ God design, before AT officiated it? I think they mentioned its like in between SSJ3 and SSJ4
2. Are there any picture of alternate designs / pre-concept pictures of Goku? Before AT decided the Goku look that we got in Dragon Boy / Dragon Ball
3. Is there any more info or a name given to the move Goku does in one of the movies? It's the one where he does a genkidama and turns ssj. The aura absorbs the spirit bomb.
4. Are there any concept designs for SSJ4, before we got they gave us?
5. Are there any links to alternate designs for any of the other SSJ transformations?

1. No sadly. But I hope we do. I want to see that cape and bulk. Just so I can laugh.
2. Yea. It was one with Goku being a monkey with fur everywhere but his face. He looked like a baby.
3. Super 13 movie? No official name but people call it the Toei punch. The video games change it to dragon fist though
4. I believe not.
5. I think Kanzenshuu might have the original SSJ3 designs some where. The one with a tail and the one with spiky rigid hair.

2. There was the monkey version already mentioned and some without his monkey tail. Plus the various iterations that early DB prototype stories had like Dragon Boy, but I don't feel like looking for all those.
4. The first design was the only design. Only difference the first draft (top) had was that his abs went all the way to his belt instead of having fur covering the bottom set for the finished version (bottom). There was an alternate color version with gold hair too, but that was never released.
5. Super Saiyan was originally colored with red eyes. Then there was some early stuff for SS3:

1)
So official art for the original caped/bulky ssjg Goku does exist, but was never put online anywhere.
2) I know DB Landmark has some (section's called "Akira Toriyama: On the Road"); I feel like there are probably more in the Daizenshuu, but I don't own any daizenshuu beyond the first to confirm this.
3) I don't know the answer to this one.
4)
5) Yes. There are alternate ssj3 designs (some with shorter hair, some with a tail) that I recall seeing on Kanzenshuu back when it was Daizex, but I don't know where those are located now.

It was “a being that surpasses everything” so I drew a character more built than Super Saiyan, with a cape, but then illustrations with a completely different feel came back from Toriyama-sensei…. It was too different from my own internal image, so I tried suggesting the more sturdily-drawn character one more time, and then Sensei told me that it really was all wrong. (laughs) It had always gone through with a single check [before], but this time, we had that sort of exchange many times. Please check how Super Saiyan God is drawn at the movie theater.

It was just that with the colors, and I also made a gold-haired version. However, I thought that black hair looked better, and decided upon that version. The combination of black and red is a more dynamic color scheme.

Re: Questions about SSJ4 and SSJG Designs and movename
Thank you guys. Much appreciated. I've seen most of those, but not all. It still shocks me when I see AT's drawing of SS4 Goku. Not sure why, maybe it's because the hair and smile look slightly different than what we got.
- SSJ God: They teased us and mentioned a cloak and cape. I think I could see that, or atleast picture it in my mind. Though mystical, it doesn't seem very AT DBZish. I would have loved to see the version that was in between SSJ3 and SS4.
- SSJ 4: I guess there's not many pictures of concept art of it. Or alternate designs. I know theres interviews but no pictures. I wonder how the gold version would look. Probably not too different than fan art pictures.
- Genkidama absorption punch: Why do fans dub it the Toei punch? Does it happen often in Toei? And which Toei animations if so (I made a fantasy short film where a character does that to another so I am fascinated with the move.) I was always wondering if the animators or people on the production team had any info on this pretty cool move.
- SSJ3: I've actually never seen that concept art. Only one little drawing , but it's cool to lay eyes on something very DBZ you've never seen before.
Which makes me wonder: As much as we've seen, importing books from japan. I wonder what the alternate designs looked like on the sketchboards in those animation offices back in the 90s.
Like I wonder if somewhere out there, someone from the team kept alternate pictures or if not that, I wonder what they know about certain movies or transformations .. that never made it to the official information books.
