Yea but thats more of a tenkaichi style game play. We need budokai gameplay styled sheets.KentalSSJ6 wrote:http://nostal.deviantart.com/gallery/37035657budokaifanatic007 wrote:What are you trying to say?KentalSSJ6 wrote:To which I say look over Nostal/Treevax's Raging Blast 3 project.

If we did get a Budokai 4, it will likely be called something else. The Spike games have grown on people over the years and DBZ fans tend to get used to it. I remember when Burst Limit came out, you had people saying "Give us BT4 on the next gen systems please!!".

Yea but we have had so many tenkaichi styled games. Its time for the Budokai series to shine a bit and i don't see whats so hard about that, they made it happen from 2002-2004(and 2008) so whats the deal?Hellspawn28 wrote:If we did get a Budokai 4, it will likely be called something else. The "deal" is Budokai style only appeals to smaller portion of DBZ gamers, like myself. They would obviously make a game that would rake in cash, i.e the one the majority was drawn to.budokaifanatic007 wrote:Yea but we have had so many tenkaichi styled games. Re: The Saiyanjin2- We Need Budokai 4
People have had Tenkaichi games on 360/PS3, they were called a bit different (Raging Blast 1 & 2) plus the gameplay/graphics had some minor differences but other than that it wasn't that much of a difference overall.
As for Budokai it's like Street Fighter on steroids and we only had one throughout the entire 7th gen, I suppose Dimps was better off making more money with the Heroes' series so Namco Bandai left the home console games for the less desirable developers (Spike & Artdink) and if I recall Spike gave a shot at mixing Budokai + Tenkaichi into one but that didn't end up well at all.
Anyway, I'm anxious to try out J-Stars Victory Vs. as that looks awesome but I'll hold on until there's sellers from UK (eBay/Amazon) with it as I don't want to pay for import fees.

Re: The Saiyanjin2- We Need Budokai 4
If that were true then how would you explain Burst Limit outselling all of Spike's 7th gen games? Or Budokai 3 getting more hype from high reviews than any other DBZ game?DarkPrince_92 wrote:The "deal" is Budokai style only appeals to smaller portion of DBZ gamers, like myself. Anyway I'm all for a Budokai 4. It's the best hope for returning the games to their former glory.
Re: The Saiyanjin2- We Need Budokai 4
Is it just me or do DragonBall games usually come in threes, such as the rpgs for famicom or the butouden games. It's strange that whenever they get to four they just call it something else or start a new line of games.

Re: The Saiyanjin2- We Need Budokai 4
Probably because Burst Limit was the first Next Gen DBZ game when it came out. And it looked amazing. I know that's why half my friends that bought it did, until they found out it was a Budokai style game (did no research). I would love a Budokai 4, I'd buy in a heartbeat, but I'm just being realistic here.90sDBZ wrote:If that were true then how would you explain Burst Limit outselling all of Spike's 7th gen games? Re: The Saiyanjin2- We Need Budokai 4
Dimps seem to be solely focused on Heroes at the moment, which is a shame because they did a great job with the games back in the early 2000s when DragonBall games were at their best, at least I think so anyway.DarkPrince_92 wrote:Probably because Burst Limit was the first Next Gen DBZ game when it came out. Re: The Saiyanjin2- We Need Budokai 4
But doesn't the fact that it was released earlier in the gen show that it did very well because at the time not as many people could afford those systems?DarkPrince_92 wrote:Probably because Burst Limit was the first Next Gen DBZ game when it came out. I'm with you on wanting Budokai 4 to happen though. It would be a day 1 special edition pre-order for me (if they released a special edition that is). There's so much potential for DBZ games to be great again that sadly gets ignored by the powers that be.
Regardless of the success of BL if Namco Bandai where to look at Budokai 3 and its universal popularity they'd see they're missing a golden opportunity. BL failed to reach the popularity of B3 because of its small roster, limited story, annoying drama pieces and annoying ki system, none of which were an issue in B3. If BL had the roster and gameplay of B3 or IW with 7th-gen graphics it would have been a success. Something I've noticed is that nobody seems to dislike Budokai 3. The BT fans prefer BT but say B3 is good/okay, while a lot of B3 fans dislike the BT gameplay style.

I guess Burst Limit is Budokai 4, will that is what I always thought. It would be nice though if they tried it again since Burst Limit wasn't as successful as the original. There is also Infinite World guys...

Re: The Saiyanjin2- We Need Budokai 4
So far Burst Limit still remains as the true next-gen Dragon Ball Z game to date as there's no other that can top it in terms of graphics (one of the reasons to get a newer console). It's for sure that PS4/WU/XO can have games with better graphics but when it comes down to DBZ there's just not much hope.
Battle of Z is a pretty fun and addictive game but the graphics are what you'd get from a launch 7th gen console.

Re: The Saiyanjin2- We Need Budokai 4
The last video game I ever purchased with my own hard earned money was Burst Limit on PS3. I rented both of the Raging Blasts when they were released and hated them. The new ones don't look any different, really.
A Burst Limit 2 or Infinite World 2 would be some great ideas. Or also a sequel to Attack of the Saiyans on 3DS! It is my 3rd favorite Dragon Ball Z game.

People only started clambering for a then "Next Gen Tenka'ichi Game" after Burst Limit turned out to be a let down.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

If Dragon Ball Z : Burst Limit were a let down you wouldn't see people asking for a sequel, Dragon Ball: Ultimate Blast was actually a huge let down.goku the krump dancer wrote:People only started clambering for a then "Next Gen Tenka'ichi Game" after Burst Limit turned out to be a let down.
By the way, Tenkaichi 4 (aka Next Level Tenkaichi) already exists since 2009:
