Re: New announcement on Dragon Ball Kai website.
Nothing totally exciting. There will be a special group discussion (including Masako Nozawa "and others") to talk behind-the-scenes stuffage and the appeal of Dragon Ball during the event. Already working on a news update about it. Will share link shortly.
EDIT: Here ya' go.

Re: New announcement on Dragon Ball Kai website.
They're using the Dragon Ball Kai logo but considering this is mostly for the foreign fans wouldn't it be more suitable to use the Dragon Ball Z Kai logo instead?
Perhaps they're using the original logo for consistency's sake although the music wasn't.

I don't understand your question and I don't think you do either.
The event is in Japan with Japanese staff for a Japanese audience. It doesn't matter if Kai's continuation is in any way thanks to its international success; that's not relevant here, so why on Earth would they call it something other than what they call it in Japan?

Re: New announcement on Dragon Ball Kai website.
Thank you for the info, Mike!
I'm not sure what you are getting at here. While originally the revival of Kai may have been meant strictly for international audiences, that is not the case anymore. The show is airing in Japan. At this point, why would they treat it any different? Also, what does the music really have to do with this? Just sounds like another reason for you to complain about the replacement score. We get it. You didn't like it.dbboxkaifan wrote:They're using the Dragon Ball Kai logo but considering this is mostly for the foreign fans wouldn't it be more suitable to use the Dragon Ball Z Kai logo instead?

No that's not it, they broke the consistency when they switched to Kikuchi's score while the previous soundtrack was composed by Kenji Yamamoto so in this regard they didn't do a very good job.Freeza Soldier #156 wrote:I'm not sure what you are getting at here. I wasn't aware that Majin Boo hen is now getting attention in Japan because its sales weren't rock solid, but times change and that's what happened here I see.

That's not their fault. He was busted for plagiarism, they had to get rid of his music.dbboxkaifan wrote: No that's not it, they broke the consistency when they switched to Kikuchi's score while the previous soundtrack was composed by Kenji Yamamoto so in this regard they didn't do a very good job.
The first official announcement we got that it was airing on Japanese television first, though...I wasn't aware that Majin Boo hen is now getting attention in Japan because its sales weren't rock solid, but times change and that's what happened here I see.

Then what does that have to do with the consistency of the logo? You always pick up some slight superficial affinities between completely unrelated things and try to associate them for no reason.dbboxkaifan wrote:No that's not it, they broke the consistency when they switched to Kikuchi's score while the previous soundtrack was composed by Kenji Yamamoto so in this regard they didn't do a very good job.
But I think I've seen a number of your posts on the Buu Kai thread...dbboxkaifan wrote:I wasn't aware that Majin Boo hen is now getting attention in Japan because its sales weren't rock solid, but times change and that's what happened here I see.

Again, what does that have to do with the branding of the show? Why would them having to switch composers mean they would rebrand the entire property? Just because the score changed doesn't mean it isn't Dragon Ball Kai.dbboxkaifan wrote: No that's not it, they broke the consistency when they switched to Kikuchi's score while the previous soundtrack was composed by Kenji Yamamoto so in this regard they didn't do a very good job.
All of the official information we've gotten about Buu Kai has come from Japan. It's the only place so far that it has been receiving attention.dbboxkaifan wrote:I wasn't aware that Majin Boo hen is now getting attention in Japan because its sales weren't rock solid, but times change and that's what happened here I see.
