How do you own the series?

Post by DoomieDoomie911 » Thu Apr 10, 2014 8:40 pm

Do you have the orange bricks? The Dragon Boxes? Something else? I personally have all of the orange, blue, and green bricks.

My goal is to keep any color of brick as far away from me as possible (allergies, you know  ), so for DB I have all of the 2-disc Saga Sets (minus the first 13 episode import, which I really wish I could find), for DBZ I have the Dragon Boxes, and for what I have of GT, it's the singles.

Through Viz's volume 1 - 16 manga box set and DBZ Vizbigs 1 - 9. Oh, and a few of the movies on DVD.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

The DBZ Dragon Boxes and two volumes of Kai to mix-and-match my viewing experience.

I'll probably be getting those color manga sets eventually.

I'll be getting the digital Jump that has Dragon Ball Minus. I already own Dr. Slump, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and the special Jump that has chapter 5 of Neko Majin Z.

As for the anime, I own all of the seasons bricks; from Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT. Everyday I fight a powerful urge to buy the movie bricks that match the season bricks, however, I already own all of the movies in the steel books and I love those too much to get rid of them. I uh... also own the steelbooks a 2nd time on bluray. Lastly I own all of Dragon Ball Z Kai on bluray and plan on buying the Buu Saga if it comes out in English.

The only thing I hate about the Orange Bricks is the shitacular video quality.

So far, I have Volumes 3 and 4 of the VIZ Manga in iTunes format since there's not enough room in my house for books. I'll collect the rest when I find a job, lol.

Volumes 11, 13, 15, and 17(Z Volume 1) of the Viz tankoubon.
All 153 episodes of Dragon Ball via Blue Brick season sets.
The first Ultimate Uncut Edition single, containing Dragon Ball Z episodes 1-3.
Across multiple VHS releases, I have DBZ episodes 118-120(uncut), 250-253, 260-262, 288-291. All English dubbed.
Movie 6, The Return of Cooler, on dub-only VHS.
Movie 13 on it's original single DVD.
Battle of Gods Hong Kong Blu-ray(I still haven't opened it/seen the film!).
I did own the GT TV special at one point, and still have the case... the disc is in Heaven now.
The "super kanzenban" of Episode of Bardock that came inside the March 2014 issue of Saikyo Jump

My dream scenario would be to know Japanese, own everything in Japanese, and be done with that. And the original single FUNimation release of Movie 5/Cooler's Revenge.

EDIT: I guess if digital stuff counts, I technically own a bunch of Saiyan arc color chapters, the entirety of Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, and Dragon Ball Minus, all through my subscription to Viz's Shonen Jump.

I own the entire run of the Ocean/Westwood dub of DragonBall Z on VHS along with the Blue Water dubs for DragonBall and DragonBall GT. (Which have since been digitised for personal use, all those VHS tapes drive me insane ).
DVD wise I have the first 3 Ocean Dubbed movies and all the other movies. Blu-Ray wise I have all of Kai and the first season set. I own the Z portion of the Manga and the first Colour Volume (Hopefully I can the DragonBall portion as I still have yet to read it.

DBZ: FUNi Dragon Boxes, plus the Japanese Special Selection DVD for the TV specials.

DBGT: FUNi Singles.

Movies: FUNi Singles and "First Strike" boxset, and Japanese "Battle of Gods" BD.

As for DB, I just watch that on FUNi's site for the time being, since it's currently the only available option with the Japanese title cards. I would like to buy the Japanese singles, though, if FUNi never releases DB Dragon Boxes.
