Could SSJ3 Goku beat Super Buu Piccolo?

So I was watching the anime today when SSJ3 Goku was getting thrashed by Super Buu with Gotenks absorbed he ended up changing because Gotenks fusion inside of him wore off.

Afterwards Goku got all cocky and asked if he really thought he was going to be able to beat him in his current form as he had now lost a lot of power.

But could SSJ3 Goku really beat Super Buu with Piccolo, Goten and Trunks? Or did he really mean Gohan?

No, he didn't. He specifically said that Gohan would be able to beat him. Also, afterwards, while inside of Super Buu's body, Goku said that him and Vegeta would be killed if they faced Super Buu.

No. The original manga shows it pretty clearly.

That's a Funi dub line. In the Japanese anime, he just notes that Buu's power dropped and that now Gohan can handle him. The original manga makes it very clear where Goku stands in relation to Super Buu in any form; he's a weakling. He repeatedly says he has no chance of beating this Buu alone, even when he has no one but his good half absorbed. That was the whole point of making him revert to Pure Buu. The anime was also pretty clear, up until the Pure Buu fight, where they sloppily inserted two lines that weren't in the manga that said Pure Buu was stronger than even Buutenks and Buuhan. But since those make no sense, even by filler logic, and weren't in the manga, they can be easily ignored.

We already have what Goku thinks of himself vs. just Regular Evil Buu, it's not gonna be any better if Buu absorbs Piccolo in the process.

Well, the dub throws in Goku saying that Piccolo Buu wouldn't be able to beat him like that, and then goes on to continue with the whole "Your power's dropped significantly. Gohan can beat you now" dialogue.

As others have said though, in the original manga Goku makes no reference to whether or not Piccolo Buu could defeat him, and even later points out that regular Evil Buu, without Piccolo, Gohan, or the boys absorbed, would beat him and Vegeta in a fight.

In the anime Goku says that he could only beat Fat Buu, so he admitted that he was capable of that. But that means Kid Buu was stronger than Fat Buu. He did not mentioned he could beat any versions of Super Buu.
