Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku...don't care what language it is in, the song rocks my face and heightens my emotions. Even if you don't like GT you cannot help but love this song! The Spanish tracks are truly exceptional, but enough about what I think, I wanna know what y'all think! Any fellow Dan Dan fans out there? What do y'all think, love, hate about the other renditions in other languages?

I found it while doing some of my bar prep courses and just cannot get enough! (oh look a humble brag, no not really just giving context on why I found the vid so inspirational, and why I've been so MIA, miss being on here and reading all the discussion feel like I'm missing out lol, but seriously this playlist is actually making studying fun, I know weird)

Indeed, a very grand and nostalgia inducing song. I love this one a lot. Sung by Son Goku's voice actor who voiced him through Z and the few parts in GT that were not cut.

I like most of the versions, but I've never really liked the Blue Water one, or the Latino version (at least the original recording, guy sounds monotone. Much prefer the cover versions by Ceaser Franco, Adrian Barba/Ricardo Silva, etc).

The FUNimation version sounds a lot better when you switch the instrumental to the original one:

Wow! JUST WOW! I love the totally different lingual sound while maintaining the heart of Dan Dan, that is an incredibly nostalgia inducing device indeed; but that first sentence (not sure the musical term) and rythm is so uniquely German! I love the pacing it totally works and gives a great twist on a song I love!

No contest that rendition makes Funimation's version sound way better!

Regarding the Spanish version...Really! lol augh man I love the Spanish version

(well at least the second track in the youtube video I posted) because it sounds so I dunno genuine or like someone really into it and not just a studio let me collect my pay check. The guy sounds like he really wants to be the one to hit the lyrics it has so much heart to me. It feels more homemade and less commercial.

As far as Spanish versions go, this is my favorite. A duet between Adrian Barba (We Gotta Power's Latino singer) and Ricardo Silva (Cha La Head Cha La's). So pretty much a 'Latino Kageyama-esque version' is the best way I can put it:

Also a Multilanguage one to get a feel for how most of the dubs sound!

I love this version too. Even though the lyrics aren't exactly faithful to the original Dan Dan, it's a very beautiful love song.
The same singer (whose name is Momo Cortés according to the cast list) sung the ending too, and it's arguably even better.

Besides the Japanese and the 2 portuguese versions (one sung by Goten and the other by Omega Shenron xD) I love the Chile one and both the German versions. The Chile one specially is so calm to hear.

The one sung by Goten is the most popular one as it's the TV-series one. The other one was from the TV special, it's not even on Youtube. I might upload it later and post a link here.

They are not the same but they aren't faithful eitrher, think of it as a continuation of the first version.

The German version of Dan Dan has always been a favorite of mine. Specifically, I like the singer's voice and different rendition of the instrumental track. Probably my favorite version of Dan Dan next to the original itself.

I love Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku. It's my favourite DragonBall song along with Makafushigi Adventure, Mezase Tenkaichi and With a Burning Heart: Defeat the Red Ribbon Army. It sounds great no matter what language it is sung in

Also the Blue Water Dub version is extremely nostalgic to me. I used to remember eagerly awaiting each episode of GT to air on Toonami in the UK. Hell I liked GT a lot more than I did DBZ back then lol.

Lol I feel like you and I have very different tastes in the Dragon Ball franchise, you don't like Nozawa or Dan Dan...what may I ask do you like or I guess, more on topic, what do you find terrible about Dan Dan? Is it the lyrics or the overall instrumental?
Obviously, I personally find it uplifting and very much the essence of Dragon Ball with its peppy rythms and overall just happy go lucky no worries vibes.

Spanish version: OH HECK YES!! That was awesome, I loved the duet, it was a nice rendition.
The Korean version was good but not one of my favorites, it def had the passion.

Oh yeah that German one keeps coming back and really resonating with me; there something about how the German language is so commanding that I feel inspired when he hits the second verse...the more I hear it the more I'm like "YEAH!"
