Is Kanzenshuu the most popular DB site?
Would you guys say that Kanzenshuu is the most popular DB site on the web? I seen people about this on other threads on the site. I would say that it is since the site is still pretty much Daizenshuu EX and the site is the oldest DBZ site that is still alive. I think more people come here for DB related news then anywhere else. Funimation knows that we exist and they seem to lurk the forums too. I doubt they go on any other DB fan sites. Not to mention we have a lot of information on behind the scenes stuff that most sites don't have.

Well, I guess if not, even by extension it kinda is considering near enough every other site tends to steal their stuff!

I would't say steal. More or less borrow since some of them even link(Not on accident like a certain website) Kanzenshuu. Idk if Kanzenshuu is the most popular but indirectly is the "Oldest" due to the website fusion. Also @HellSpawn28 Funimation knows about Dbzf and lurk there as well. However they stop after a forum member asked Mr.Sean to join the forum but called us "Assholes" because of.....a certain situation that happen in 2009(?) with...PeuginTruth . Guess you can Kanzenshuu news is famous and most popular but in SOME point of views Kanzenshuu Forum is infamous.AjayLikesGaming wrote:Well, I guess if not, even by extension it kinda is considering near enough every other site tends to steal their stuff!
Re: Is Kanzenshuu the most popular DB site?
I'd think it is the most popular one (if only because the number of big db sites that are left that I know of outside it barely number over 5). There used to be so many long ago.
On hiatus.

No, they definitely steal. It's not 'borrowing' when you don't have permission nor credit the site.TheGmGoken wrote:I would't say steal.

I said SOME even give the source to this very site. So they did indeed give credit to the site.AjayLikesGaming wrote:No, they definitely steal. It's not 'borrowing' when you don't have permission nor credit the site.TheGmGoken wrote:I would't say steal.

Okay? So what relevance does that have to anything? My initial post didn't say 'absolutely every'. You felt the need to reply saying they 'borrow' because some sites happen to give credit. And what? So? How does that negate required permission?TheGmGoken wrote:I said SOME even give the source to this very site. So they did indeed give credit to the site.

Maybe I mis-understood because I have a hard time with English. But to me it sounded like you was saying that every "other" sight stole. I'm just saying that not nesscary true as they mostly credit Kanzenshuu as the source. We don't know what go on behind the scene. Maybe they did get permission. How would you know?AjayLikesGaming wrote:Okay? So what relevance does that have to anything? My initial post didn't say 'absolutely every'. What? "near enough every other site" near enough. Not all.
How do I know? You only have to take one look at Mike's twitter to see his near weekly tweets of sites stealing content.

Once again. I most likely mis-understood. English isn't my best language. I probably just over looked the word or didn't know it in that context. No disrespect to Mike but I don't really care enough for Kanzenshuu or Mr.EX enough to go on his twitter. But doing a quick scan I found nothing,AjayLikesGaming wrote:What? How do you define popularity? Raw numbers in terms of traffic? Reputation by frequency and reliability of news and content? I'd say that Kanzenshuu performs pretty well across the board, but unless your concept of popularity is determined by a specific feature/function, it might be hard to pin down the most popular outside of vague impressions.
Kanzenshuu is certainly a respected site, as well as a popular one in its own right, but in terms of the bigger picture I think you'd have to sit down and do a fairly hard analysis comprised of this factor and that factor before you can ultimately determine how it "ranks".
The question itself isn't necessarily aggressive, but at the same time I don't imagine popularity in and of itself is something that the staff actively pursue anyway... which for me anyway, makes the question kind of moot. Great content is great content.

Re: Is Kanzenshuu the most popular DB site?
If the load on our poor, overtaxed server is any indication, we do pretty well, but "popularity" as-such is hard to measure. We don't strive specifically to be popular: we just want to do what we love, which is to compile the most complete and accurate collection of information and commentary about the (original Japanese version of the) Dragon Ball franchise.
In terms of raw hits, though, I really have no idea. We don't engage in clickbait or cheap cut-and-paste "articles" (without links to the original source) that easily increase raw pageviews (which equals advertising revenue for sites that use ads) but don't actually add anything of value. I despair a little bit when I see that so-called "fan sites" that mainly take other sites' content without attribution have huge numbers of Facebook fans, or Twitter followers, or YouTube subscribers... but ultimately we believe that it's worth taking the time to build our following by word-of-mouth and sheer quality, rather than racking up hits through the zero-effort, zero-credibility way.

Well Saiyan Island is mostly a DB site that branched into a DB and the big three site and that is far more popular than this site. Though as I said it's not a strictly DB site.

I don't think that's a fair description of this site, sure most of the people here prefer the original version, but a lot of people also come here to discuss stuff like the various English dubs and other obscure dubs/adaptions.SaiyaJedi wrote:If the load on our poor, overtaxed server is any indication, we do pretty well, but "popularity" as-such is hard to measure. The forum is not the site as a whole (just one part of it), and conversations on the forum do not dictate what content we cover, produce, translate, etc. as part of the actual website itself.
