Vegeta's Voice Actor

Post by ssj-tom » Tue Jan 10, 2006 6:04 pm

Is it just me, or has vegeta's voice actor in the dub (christopher sabat) completely changed the voice since the captain ginyu saga.
Goku: You seem to delight in seeing other people suffer, and you treat life like a disposable comodity. You destroy homes, you take the lives of innocent peace loving people, you even take the lives of children, and all of this for your own amusement or personal gain. Well, now it's your turn.

He still sounded as unfitting as ever when I saw some Buu episode clips

I don't see a problem with his voice for Vegeta. It definitely fits his character but maybe not his look.

He tried to impersonate Brian Drummond at first, at least during his first episode or two. That's one reason.

I suppose listening to Brian Drummond's effort more has skewed my view a little.

Christopher Sabat was kind of developing it as he went, and didn't really find an exact...fit, or something, that he liked until the 5th Season started, I suppose.

He still seems to be trying to mimic Drummond a bit even at the Cell Game, but once that passes he kind of takes on that controlled, deeper, more refined voice and has held it since. It isn't suiting at all to the Japanese Counterpart, but at least it doesn't sound so fake.
