Help finding a certain BGM from the Ocean Dub.

Post by SSJ3_Zack » Fri Jul 11, 2014 11:45 pm

Hi. Would anyone know where/how I can find the piece that plays in this video? Is it from Monster Rancher or the Mega Man cartoon (Or neither according to the video description)? Also were the soundtracks to both shows released?

Don't know about Monster Rancher, but the track in the video is definitely not from Mega Man, which I can say does not have a proper soundtrack release. (Well, they released a Mega Man OST, but it's just the ending themes from Season 2, no actual BGM)

Not familiar with the Ocean Dub, so can't vouch for any of the other music.

The Internet summed up in four words.
"This sucks. Make more."

Neither the soundtracks for Monster Rancher nor Mega Man were ever officially released. Same goes with any of the original tracks that played in the Ocean dub of the Buu saga.

That track is one of the few pieces that were newly composed specifically for the dub.

Am I the only one who finds Tom Keenlyside and John Mitchel's music more Dragon Ball-esque than both the Yamamoto and Sumitomo scores?

Unfortunately episodes 108-276 of the ocean dub will never see the light of day in the form of a home release and by extension neither will any of the music. The intro song was posted up online in stereo sound and I think that's as much as we'll ever get due to whatever legal restrictions are in place.

Maybe some day if Funimation is still milking the franchise they'll do a follow up to the RTD set and acquire the rest of the Ocean audio. That is, if the audio even still exist 10+ years after it's TV airing. For all we know it's been deleted to save money on storage or something.

Thanks for the replies guys. Ah that's a shame that nothing has been officially released. I wonder, would it be possible to rip the BGM?
