What to Provide as Background Info for BoG?

So, my girlfriend agreed to go watch Battle of Gods with me, even though she has little interest in Dragon Ball. She's watched parts of DBZ with me so she has some familiarity with the main characters, probably up through the Freeza arc. I think she's caught bits and pieces of the Android/Cell arcs, and maybe a very little bit of the beginning of the Majin Buu stuff. What essential background info should I fill her in on before we watch it so that she's not totally lost? Please, no spoilers for the movie, which is why I've been avoiding the BoG thread on here.

Maybe telling her about some of the later characters (Mr. Satan, Boo, Bee), Videl and Gohan's relationship, Great Saiyaman and Kaioushin power-up, Fusion, SSJ 3 (maybe 2 as well but I don't recall it being relevant), Kuririn and #18's relationship. Explaining who Pilaf, Mai and Shuu are might also help.

Basicly just explaining character relationships, new transformations after Freeza and power-up techniques.

Tell her about the gods, otherwise she'll wonder who these pink and blue skinned people are at the beginning of the film.
