BLaZe96/Paul Blaze: Anyone watch his DBZ videos?

If so, what's your favorite one from him? I like this one:

And this one just for humor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4WzZIskXVo

His videos are dull and idiotic, sorry.
It is clear that sometime in Mark Satan's life, he acquired the dragon balls and called upon shenlong to grant him immortality.

I'm curious to know why you think that.

I don't know, because of that retarded ''Yo, weeaboos, how can you like language you don't blargh blargh blargh''.
I also don't know what is funny about those videos?

First video: Poses a question to those who like the Japanese version about how they can like it; disables comments. Check.

Second video: "...Battle of the Gods..." Stopped listening before he even started whining about Toriyama's designs. Check.

Third video: Complains that Colleen Clinkenbeard's Gohan "sounds like a girl"; fails to explain what made Stephanie Nadolny's gravelly-voiced interpretation "boyish" (a throat infection, perhaps?). Check.

I find it funny how he describes the JPN voices sounding like little kids but that's just me.

1) Didn't notice, can't refute this.

2) Aside from the title, it's his opinion -- if I told you that there would be a SSG Goku and you had no prior knowledge of Battle of Gods, you wouldn't expect him to look like that, would you? Not saying it's bad, but most people would expect him to look more muscular and powerful.

3) I'll let these clips speak for themselves: http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/voi ... all/Gohan/

Yeah I've watched a few of his videos here and there, I agree with him on a few things. He's ok.

It's just dialect. Not a prestige dialect, to be sure, but there's nothing inherently wrong with the way he talks.

The stuff he says, on the other hand, I simply can't agree with.

I also don't quite get this "discussion backed by random video game footage that has zero relevance to the subject matter". I don't get it. Like, seriously. Don't get it.

Maybe it's a case of "I only have audio, but this is YouTube, so I know I have to have SOME sort of 'video' there to go along with it... so... game footage...?" Perhaps I know too much, which is why when I put our podcast on YouTube, I just put a static frame that I make on my own and have the knowledge to extend it out for the duration of the episode.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe people want to sit there and be distracted by random footage. Maybe that's how you can get away with saying more inflammatory things; they're too distracted by the game footage to pay 100% attention to what you're saying.

Or maybe I'm just old.

^Nah, I'm totally with you on the random footage thing. That's a really annoying thing that usually decides whether I even watch the video or not.

Ummm... From what I've seen, I can't say I'm a fan.

Its a bit ironic that BlaZe96 complains about the Japanese voicing being annoying in the first video when I could barely get through said video without ripping out my own ears. Its also pretty ironic that he mentions that he wants people to comment on the video regardless of negative or positive input and he disables comments... His criticisms seem to be purely subjective and lack any real substance. He just says how he doesn't like the Japanese voices because most characters sound like children and that the subs are too fast to read and that the English dub is perfect. He doesn't go any deeper than that. The same can be said for the other videos where his main arguments seem to be "super saiyan god doesn't look like what I expected it to so it sucks" and "Dragon Ball Kai has worse voice acting in general than the original because Gohan's new voice is terrible."

I will say that I do agree with BlaZe96 that Dragon Ball Kai's kid Gohan voice is terrible, but everything else he says pretty much goes against everything I believe in when it comes to Dragon Ball.

Thought the first video was unintentionally hilarious. He opened up by expressing his disbelief that people like watching things in Japanese. The accompanying banner ad: "Learn Japanese for Free!"

Anyway... to be honest, while I sampled all three, I couldn't get through a single one of them. And to be as constructive as possible, I'd say he would heavily benefit from scripting his videos because as it is now it just comes off as a lot of unpleasant, repetitive rambling. That said, I'm not 100% sure that would help him because he seems to lack the ability to express critical arguments. Again, that could just be because he's going off the cuff, but the examples provides seem to boil down to nothing but, "I don't like this, this is stupid," on a loop with nothing to back it up. If the "96" is an indicator of when he was born, well, he's pretty young, and he does come off as the angry teenager type with little experience with analysis and criticism, and he'll probably outgrow it. This type of video probably appeals to people who share the types of sentiments he is expressing, and who just want their opinions parroted back at them.
