I know that everything else about the game is kinda all over the place but... the soundtrack really does kick ass. From all the DB games I've played no other soundtrack has stayed with me as much as Final Bout's did.
Which is rather fitting since DBGT's greatest was always its Japanese soundtrack.
As bad as GT was I always had to give props to the music from start to finish.

Also, it seems to have the best intro of all as well.

Sean Schemmel is THE MAN! :)
Me- "Also, before anyone mentions it, Schemmel's interview was from nearly 15 years ago. He paid a brief visit to Kanzenshuu's forums a few years back and earned legendary respect that cancels out anything he said from that long ago. :D"

3rd link, track around the 28 minute mark was my favorite one. I actually liked this game, I mean, it's terrible now, but when me and my friend tricked my PS1 to play Japanese games and got it to work, we played for many a hours.

Yeah I personally think the Butouden games and UB22 did better with the sound.

I agree. Final Bout took previous songs and gave them a better, more percussive and pounding sound which explains its everlasting earworm quality to me. No other soundtrack sticks to my ears as persistent as this one.
It's diverse, conveys lots of different moods with varying tempos. I could listen to it over and over and never get bored. Overall a perfect soundtrack in my opinion.

The soundtrack was the only good thing that Final Bout had going for it.

Final Bout was a Dragon Ball game not Dragon Ball Z / GT, and imo, I'd go with Tenkaichi 2's OST instead.

I completely agree. Final Bout had a very memorable BGM that gave the game a grand epic atmosphere. Ultimate Battle 22 had great songs too and I love that soundtrack equally but a lot of them felt more appropriate for dancing than fighting.
I kinda wish Xenoverse would go back to a similar style of soundtrack to Final Bout or have a few remixes in there for old fans. Imagine how much more epic the kid Buu fight would be if you heard this as the battle starts:

It would be so much more effective than the generic soulless guitar tracks we constantly have in the games. Budokai 1 had great guitar tracks but after that they just declined in quality.

I wouldn't say specifically only Final Bout, but the various Dragon Ball games from that era, like UB22 or the Butouden series as they share some tracks and the style of them. 90's Yamamoto was the best.

Dragon Ball got really lucky with its soundtrack, whether being from the TV series, movies or games and even strange releases like the Hit Song Collection series were very good (at least 90's wise).
When I played Final Bout, I would keep Future Trunks' stage in pause just to endlessly hear Hikari no Will Power. Dragon Ball Legends has a really good soundtrack as well, can't really say which of them is my favorite...
Sometimes I wonder where did Yamamoto rip them all off from.
