Boo Saga BGM

Hi all,

I'm aware that a similar question has already been asked and is on the Ask Daizenshuu EX page, but I'm interested to know whether there have been any new leads in uncovering BGM from the Boo Saga.

There are only a few BGM titles from the Boo Saga in existence to my knowledge that are on CD, namely those from Disc 4 of the Dragon Ball & Dragon Ball Z Set: Prologue II, A New Hero Is Born, Angel, Reconvene, Those Who Love Justice and We Were Angels - TV Size. I've checked everywhere else including the movie BGM Disc 5 of that set, as well as the other sets including the Dragon Ball Z Ongakushuu, but to no avail. That being said, amongst the ones that have been published so far, I like particularly the Angel, Prologue and Those Who Love Justice BGM titles in addition to the opening and ending songs.

But many of the other allegedly unpublished spin-off BGM from the title songs We Gotta Power and We Were Angels are also very good. For instance, many of the 200+ episodes close with a suspense BGM theme in a spin-off tune of We Were Angels, which is very appealing, as well as others that I don't recall as much (one of them had violins and was a battle theme I think, but different to the themes used in earlier sagas).

I'm aware of the upcoming Complete Dragon Ball Z BGM Collection 3 CD Set at the end of next month (February 22, 2006), so hopefully that'll contain a lot of the missing Boo BGM that I'm looking for.

Have I missed other existing/upcoming CDs and avenues that contain such Boo Saga music?

The closest you'd find would be, as you mentioned, the OSTs to DBZ movies 8, 10, and 11 (which you can find listings of over on the "Movie Music" page). However, the vast majority of that material that *was* used in the TV series (notably some of the movie 8 tracks) were already on the 5-CD-set. So, nothing interesting there.

That's what's so exciting about the upcoming 3 disc BGM collection .

Quick question regarding the same three discs. I assume none of the Dragon Ball GT music has been confirmed or even announced for these upcoming CDs or any other CD? It would be really nice to be able to listen to the GT music. :\

I have the Ongakushu Volume 2 CD, and while I don't think it has the songs you specifically mentioned, it does have a a lot of the music used in the Buu saga.

Since the CD was rereleased it should be easy to find. I've had mine a long time, though.

I'm hoping they include some of the songs from Movie 12 on the cds. There's this one bgm from the very end of the movie that I love, yet have no idea what its called or who composed it.

Yo, Chuquita, aren't you gonna get the upcoming FUNi release of Movie 12? If you say no, I'll yell at ya'. This is the most anticipated movie release from FUNi since the first Broly feature, and if the rumors I've heard about Toei's masters being in stereo are true (like the Goku Jr. special), then this is gonna friggin' own. Hell, I think EX is even getting it. How could he, or anyone for that matter, pass down Daimao's translation of movie 12 with no cropping?
