"Shin Budokai" First Images

Post by LaRésistance » Fri Jan 20, 2006 12:06 pm

As you know, Shin Budokai will be the first Dragon Ball Z game for the PSP. The French website Jeux-France has posted the first picture about the game, to see it, go there: http://www.jeux-france.com/images0_4_14130.html

It looks like the green dude from the other world will finally be a playable character...
The résistance dies but never gives up.

Hmmm... the Brolly pic looks close to Budokai 3. But the Goku blasting Vegeta one looks like something else entirely.

DAMMIT! If it's a new game, I may have to buy a PSP after all....
"Destiny"... people claim by force what they desire, wreak havoc upon others in order to acquire it... and they call it "destiny".

New game or not, I'm still not buying a PsP just for this one DBZ game. I have Chou DBZ to look forward to for the Ps2. 8)

*hugs his PSP* ngnikolaos, where do you see Broly? I don't see him. I would love it if it's called Shin Budokai because it's part of the Budokai series, as in the game has all the characters from previous Budokai's and in game transformations and stuff. That would kick arse.

Looks interesting, but psp's are still way too expensive for me to buy. That's over $300.00 for the system alone.
On hiatus.

For some reason, I really think Dragon Ball games need to stop. But this game looks pretty cool, especially for the PSP (in terms of graphics, for all I know it could simply be a port of Budokai 3).

Ugh... I need money, and truckloads of it.

If this ends up being something like a Budokai 4, I'm going to have no choice but to buy a PSP... (I was thinking about those Bleach games and the upcoming Naruto one anyways...) Damn you, Japan, and your tantalizing games!

Finally, some media. It's too hard to make assumptions from that tiny picture, but I'm really hoping it ends up being a port of Budokai 3, albiet with some additions and upgrades (which there appear to be, if that's the case..) thrown in. And even if it's just a vanilla port of B3 with Paikuhan tossed in, I know it's gonna rule my UMD slot with an iron fist.

(Until I get my hands on Narutimatte Portable and GG: Judgement, at any rate.)

where do you see Broly?
He's in that box in the middle of the picture, on the left-hand side; You can't see him well though.

This looks like it's going to be a great game so far. I've always thought that Pikkon would be a fun character to play as in a Budokai game. I think this is going to give me the final push to eventually buy a PSP. I've been meaning to buy a DS as well, so I'm also going to need some cash.

Agreed.

The health bars didn't quite look the same to me, but I to would like it if it's a DBZB3 port with a few new characters like Paikuhan and Janeumba.

With a name as Shin Budokai (True Budokai), one is tempted to think this Budokai incorporates ideas left over from older Budokai games, which they never implemented (for this or that reason), so it might be very much like Budokai 3, but with some bonus features. (Their 'true' aim when making Budokai 3)

I've had a PSP since they came out last March and with the slim pickings in game selection, I only have Ridge Racers and Metal Gear Acid. I can't wait for this one.

Well I'd love that. Out of the four PS2 DBZ fighting games, I loved DBZB3 the most as I kept coming back to it. If this is a DBZ fighting game with Budokai's fighting and capsule system and a few extras like Muten Tiencha/Yamhan, Janemba, Bojack and Muten Roshi, I'd be really happy.

Lest we forget....

So, if this is indeed a Budokai with extras, does that mean we'll finally get Kiwi?

Nope, he didn't forget anything. Sagas is not a fighting game. Therefor, his statement was accurate. There are 4, and only 4, DBZ Fighting Games on the PS2.
