Why do some songs have different instrumental tracks than...

...their CD releases?

In other words, I've noticed that some of the OP and ED songs have different instrumental tracks when they aired on the show from when they were released on CD. As an example, let's look at the first ED for GT, "Hitori Janai."

"Hitori Janai" as heard on TV

VS

"Hitori Janai" as heard on CD

The instrumental tracks are different. Do we know for sure why that's the case?

It might be several things, it could sound different because of the sound quality, it could be that they rerecorded the song to fit within the time frame, and it could be that the CD release was the rerecorded version. Someone with more knowledge will have to chime in on the exact details, but I know that this was more normal a long time ago. It also happened with the opening song from Final Bout, which name escapes me at the moment of writing. o.O

Yeah, and in that case, it wasn't just the instrumental track--it takes careful listening, but either Kageyama re-recorded his vocals or they used alternate takes from the takes used on the CD release.

Actually, this happends a lot in the US as well! Just listen to the Scrubs, Friends or Malcolm In The Middle themes, and then listen to the originals!
