Son Goku is back

Post by omae no kaasan » Thu Jan 26, 2006 9:20 pm

And by Son Goku I mean it in the most pure sense. A revival/renewal of the Saiyuki drama from ages long ago (aka a handful of years before I was born) known around the world as Monkey Magic is now airing on Japanese television. Starring as Goku is none other than SMAP`s Katori Shingo.

Here`s the part where I confess I do not known how long the drama will run be it an extended count or the typical 12-shot bit but I`m sure someone can easily find that out. Despite having been in JP for the past month I haven`t seen it, I probably won`t and don`t know where in the story it is, I`m just acting as a messenger since I didn`t see any mention of it here. Enjoy.

Holy crap! SMAP! Katori! That's my group! I would love to see that. Especially since he's such a comical guy, he would work well in that role

Interesting smidge of trivia, Takuya`s wife sang Blue Velvet. For more info on SMAP might I suggest http://www.thegrandline.com/smap.html I wouldn`t say it`s self-promotion because, well, I never promote my site

Saw the first episode, didn't like it that much... (from a Joruney to the West view, dunno 'bout Monkey Magic) the characters and the storywere oddly rewritten :/
