Where are the manga action figures?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Where are the manga action figures?

Post by mictaliano » Fri Jan 27, 2006 12:39 am

I collect DBZ action figures, and I've been hearing about these manga inspired figures for sometime now. The problem is that I can't find them anywhere! They are the 5 inch ones of Jakks pacifics current line, but colored in shades of black and white! There is even a picture of them in Novembers Anime Insider. If anyone can give me info on where to get them or any info at all it would be much appreiated.

I remember reading about those in Gamepro...

Yet I haven't a clue.

Toys 'R Us, mine at least. I was there last week, they had 'em. Kinda disappointed, they were great figures, but I missed the color versions a long time ago, I guess. :?

I hate my area. Toys just aren't selling for some reason, unless they're Spongebob, Barbie, or B'daman. The only DBZ toys they have are a few $12-13 ($10 US) figures of "X", "SSJ X", etc. In other words, only the hair is different.

What 5" Saiyan armor wearing toys are there? I'd like to get Radditz, Nappa, and Bardock if they exist. I'm tired of seeing SSJ Vegetas and Gokus everywhere.

Anyone have a link for pics of these? I'd love to see them, as well as the packaging. And if there's no line, what figures are in the collection?

There's a two-pack of Radditz and Nappa from a couple years ago, and there have been several Bardock figures, I believe. If it counts for anything, they DID have Goku in Saiyan armor, which I promptly snatched up. :)

Best place to look up which figures are out there, is here. I'm still trying to find a good online retailer that has any of those older ones, though.

Toys R Us, which is really the only place they still sell DBZ figures where I live...
I really, really need to get back into the habit of posting.

Wouldn't they be at Amazon.com if you saw them at Toys R Us! Are you sure you're not talking about the 2 inch promotional figures? Because I did see those at Toy's R Us, but they are not the ones I'm talking about. If anyone has the November issue of Anime Insider please scan. I'm on PSP, so I can't.

I'm positive. I have the 2" figures as well, these were the full 5" figures. I wanted that Saiyan Saga Vegeta so bad, too, but I'm not really into the black-and-white scheme.
