An odd DBZ VCD.

Post by ZetaWarrior54 » Mon Jan 19, 2015 9:08 pm

Um, hello. My name is Zeta (Zed for short) and I have a really strange Dragon Ball Z VCD from Speedy Video (A.K.A The Malaysian dub) I have pictures just PM me and I'll send you them. It's a VCD, my computer read it as one. It starts with the Speedy logo. But it's the Ocean dub. I don't know if it's a bootleg or not. Thanks! :D

If you want us to identify something for you, you should post the pictures in this thread, not ask us to PM you.

Speedy Video dubbed the 13 DBZ movies into broken english using Malaysian VAs and is known by fans as the "Speedy Dub." They are notoriously bad at both voiceover and cover art. Don't be surprised by anything on the covers because they don't even know what they put on there half the time. I'm surprised they feature Goku at all, really. They used the official Toei English translations as titles for the most part.

I've never seen a VCD or digital rip of movie 11 and 13, but I have seen all others. What does the title say?

No, why would it? It's fiction. The strength of the characters is not possible to reach in reality.
I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Yeah, Speedy Video released the Ocean dub on VCD. I don't know whether they got permission from FUNimation, but their releases do have Toei Animation's logo and seem legit in a way.

They also dubbed Dragon Ball Movies 2 and 3, just for info's sake.
Was the hate for Kai largely unjustified?

The story of Kai's production is far more interesting than the actual product.
