Reedeming Qualities of DB Villains
ever thought about it? I'll start!.
King Piccolo: He may be ruthless, but he certainly feels compassion and even love towards his spawn demons, he shares such a connection that their deaths physically stun him through mind link.
Freeza: He is an excelent business man, there's no denying that he's the best imperial busines manager in the universe.
Cell: as long as his perfection is not in the line, he is a good sportsman, not killing of his opponents when he achieved perfection and only killing humans (after his perfect state) when they attacked him. He prefers a one on one battle and directly praises Goku when he fights with him. Also, as incredible as it is, he works amazingly hard and puts his life on the line to achieve his goals.
Raditz: He does try to speak with Goku before attacking him he only took Gohan so Goku turned over and be a real saiyan again, he only intended to kill Goku when his methods had proven to be futile.
Pilaf: The guy was really bad at the beginning but over time, he went from being evil to trying to be evil. So now he's not a threat to anyone anymore.
Gero: His genius is unmatched and his dedication is to be admired, his plan was still ongoing after his death. Making an impact in the world.
Nappa: Extremely Loyal to his superiors, It seems he actually was fond of his friendship with Vegeta as he was relief and genuinly happy when Vegeta took his hand when nappa was on the ground with his broken back, he was in panic when Vegeta betrayed and killed him
Ginyu: Just like Cell, if his position is not in jeopardy, he is a honorable fighter. Pretty laid back for a powerful leader, in fact all the ginyu force are quite relaxed individuals for their high ranks.
Piccolo: When he was a villain, he still wasn't as bad as his father, in the anime he even saved a little boy and his mother. And had sympathy for baby Gohan.

Isn't Piccolo practically just King Piccolo anyway?

Well, he does refer to king piccolo as father, my guess is he is Piccolo's son with his memories and most of his identity passed down.Bullza wrote:Isn't Piccolo practically just King Piccolo anyway?

Movie villains? I wouldn't know, they just appear one thing and die XD. GT villains? Well, Baby is quite devoted to his race, and Ledgic is an honorable warrior, Super 17 still thinks of 18 as a sister, and The dragons were all assholes except the fire one.Kakarot9001 wrote:What about Movies and GT villains?

I think Freeza's surprising amount of will power and conviction throughout his battle with Goku should be respected. We all look at Goku and admire him for standing up to these impossible odds and enduring all the pain and damage inflicted on him, but between the Spirit Bomb and the Super Saiyan's superior power, Freeza was right there with him taking just as much damage and yet he never actually gave up. He must have been in some awful pain, but was still tough enough to fight until the very end.

Commander Red was a thief, and a terrorist. On the other hand, he had a tremendous singing voice.

Broly: He taught little alien people a valuable life lesson as he blew up their original planet in front of their eyes: not all dreams come true.

Is that really a redeeming quality?Freeza: He is an excelent business man, there's no denying that he's the best imperial busines manager in the universe.

Re: Reedeming Qualities of DB Villains
Besides do we really have anything that proves that? Most of the real life rulers were in permanent debts. His short temper and elimination of a strong ally because of personal paranoia also doesn't support that thesis (meh, we don't even know how it is managed and if he does it personally). He may be like Mafioso ruling by iron first, but businessman?ABED wrote:Is that really a redeeming quality?Freeza: He is an excelent business man, there's no denying that he's the best imperial busines manager in the universe.

He didn't strike me as a businessman at all. He took what he wanted and used the spoils to trade for other stuff that he didn't bother to just take.
Re: Reedeming Qualities of DB Villains
The manga says that King Piccolo packed his own life force energy into the egg so that Piccolo Jr is hardly any different from the original. Piccolo Jr also refers to things that King Piccolo has done in the first person and says he's his reincarnation so he seems more like a clone like anything.Well, he does refer to king piccolo as father, my guess is he is Piccolo's son with his memories and most of his identity passed down.
Same character in a new body that looks exactly the same as his old body.
Re: Reedeming Qualities of DB Villains
He is the same character but he is not just the same character. Meaning that he is Piccolo Daimao but also more.Bullza wrote:The manga says that King Piccolo packed his own life force energy into the egg so that Piccolo Jr is hardly any different from the original. Piccolo Daimao basically created a son and then mixed his soul/life force and memories into him, thus avoiding the usual path of death for himself.
That means that Piccolo jr has everything from his father in him, but also more because he is not just a clone, he is a son which was infused with his father's essence.
That is apparent in everything about Piccolo Jr, there is a clear distinction in his mind between his father and himself, he doesn't act or is portrayed as simply Piccolo Daimao in a new body.

Great point. A true businessman offers value for value. Freeza was about brute force. The only reason people rarely tried a coup is because anyone who tried died quickly.rereboy wrote:He didn't strike me as a businessman at all. In fact, the villains that had the most redeeming qualities literally redeemed themselves: Oolong, Guymao, Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Vegeta, and Majin Buu.

Re: Reedeming Qualities of DB Villains
He had a sweet spot for his family, it started to grow until it ultimately changed him, he literally said this in buu arc. Even after getting possesed his care for his family ultimately brought him back from madness and made him sacrifice himself. Yes, lots of flaws he had, but this is definitely a redeeming quality :OZazamPow wrote:Vegeta had redeeming qualities?Marco Polo wrote:In fact, the villains that had the most redeeming qualities literally redeemed themselves: Oolong, Guymao, Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Vegeta, and Majin Buu.
