When did Vegeta become a good guy?

Depends on what you define as a "good guy".

He does bad things throughout every story arc so to me he's always a bit of a bad guy but that's part of why we like him.

Well, seeing as how he proceeds in the next few years to....
Spend half of his time obsessively thinking about how to kill, and later, defeat Goku,
Claims to be "Pure Evil" (in possibly the single dumbest line of the story.)
Threatens the people around him as a routine,
Actively makes bad situations worse, dooming the Earth excepting Deus ex Machina,
Kills a random truck driver,
Allows himself to be possessed by a demonic wizard in order to draw out the evil in his heart,
Kills a bunch of random bystanders at the tournament so he can settle his grudge match against his man crush,
etc. etc. etc.,

So yeah. He's not a good guy at the end of the Namek Arc. No way.

But isn't this instance the one exception? I'm pretty sure Vegeta still has angular speech bubbles, even when he's making his speech about why Goku is better than him in the Buu Arc.

Yeah, you're right. But (if this wasn't Toriyama) maybe symbolises that he's no longer an antagonist and more an anti-hero.

It's a corny, stupid line that sounds dumb, especially when we see beings literally made out of pure evil in this story.

It makes Vegeta sound like a little kid trying to one-up his friends.

You're blowing it out of proportion. You'd have an argument if it were some gigantic panel taking up most of the page, it was just a small panel indicating it's mostly there as a filler line.

It's not like he was wrong either, besides Boo and Freeza, he's the closest we've gotten to pure evil.

That's why I said it was a dumb line, and not a dumb major plot point.

Well Vegeta became a good guy in my book when he killed himself to defeat Majin Boo and did it out of selflessness and not out of pride for the first time in his life.

But I have to ask, and I'm not trying to be disrespectful at all, but is the thread meant to be a joke? Because judging from the OP, it seems to be.

I would say, when Vegeta knocked Goku out cold and decided to face Buu himself. He said he had set Buu free so he was the one who had to stop him. We just got confirmation of that with the Final Explosion.
