What's your ideal roster for a DBZ fighter?

It could be any character from any era, including GT and the newer movies. What characters and forms would you choose?

I'd add in #16 and all of Cell and Freeza's forms, and I'd be down with that.

Raging Blast 2's roster plus:

1. Garlic Jr
2. Lord Slug
3. Paragus
4. Gokua/Kogu
5. Bido
6. Bujin
7. Bio-Broly
8. Tapion
9. Abo
10. Kado
11. Aka
12. Whoever's in Xenoverse and not in RB2
13. Fasha
14. Gine
15. Chi-Chi
16. GT Vegeta as an alt for Z Vegeta
17. GT Goten (with an End of Z alt)
18. Uub
19. Baby Vegeta

With Dr. Wheelo, Giant Piccolo & Slug, Meta-Cooler Core, Fat Janemba, Hildegarn, Rage & Naturon Shenron and the Oozarus as bosses. Speaking of which, it'd be nice to have a boss battle mode in future games.

I like a smaller roster like Super DBZ. Put a lot of effort into making anywhere between 8 and 20 characters really diverse and balanced, with maybe only a couple clone characters. Maybe have one or two ultra-strong hidden characters. It makes for a game with a lot of actual variety instead of giving you 100+ characters that are all the same.

I don't mind having an easy to pick up and play game with over 100 similar characters, but I appreciate the "less is more" approach more because it makes the fighting deeper and more nuanced.

Infinite World probably had the most ideal roster so far. Working off of the Xenoverse roster (assuming that's the size it needs to be), I would...

Remove:
- Saibaman
- Cell Jr.
- Appule
- Raspberry
- Eis Shenron
- Nuova Shenron
- Jaco
- Towa
- Mira

Add:
- Zarbon
- 16
- Imperfect Cell
- Dabura
- Paikuhan
- Cooler
- Janemba
- Baby
- GT Oob

Something from 30-50 characters, each of them having their own spin at how they aproach combat with their Super Attacks and varied melee animations that feel pretty distinct while giving you that fanservice action from the anime , if no-ingame transformations, 2/3 max forms per character. Zenkai, I want Zenkai's roster.

I agree also, I liked in Super Dragonball Z that pretty much all the characters were unique plus you could build your own version of the characters depending on you playstyle and even learn other characters techniques.

Raging Blast 2's roster with GT Goku, Pan, Trunks, Vegeta, Goten, Gohan, Uub, Baby, Omega Shenron and Super 17 as well as Garlic Jr., Chi-Chi, Wheelo, Great Apes, Fasha and Hercule.

But if we are to never get a large chunk of GT characters in an American DBZ fighting game, then at least throw a bone with some EOZ versions of characters like Trunks, Goten, Pan and maybe alternate costumes for Vegeta, Goku, Gohan, Android 18, Krillin and Videl presuming they did not change in fighting styles.

Like Kendamu, I'd prefer a smaller roster with characters that play uniquely and have a decent amount of effort into them with a wide array of costumes.
I mean it's cool to have character's like Nappa and Recoome and all that jazz, but I've honestly never cared about them or really ever used them much besides one or two times.

Here's my ideal list of characters I would want:

(in game transformations) ]--> In game transformations would change the characters move set and whatnot although the hp would remain the same
]--> Oh also the ability to transform would be based some sort of stamina bar

1. Goku (SSJ 1, 2, 3, God, God SSJ)
2. Vegeta (SSJ 1, 2, God SSJ)
3. Adult Gohan (SSJ 1, 2, Ultimate)
4. Piccolo ]--> Stretchy arms are a must
5. Yamcha
6. Kururin
7. Tenshinhan
8. Muten Roshi (Buff)]--> because every fighting game needs some random old guy
9. 18 ]--> She needs her turn to properly shine
10. Mr. Satan ]--> The Dan of the group. Used by Veterans to humiliate the younglings who don't know what they're doing
11. Fat Boo ]--> CHOCOLATE!!!
12. Super Boo ]--> He's super. Thanks for asking
13. Kid Boo ]--> He's a maniac... Maniac...
14. Cell Perfect ]--> If I included Imperfect Cell 1, I'd be inclined to add Imperfect Cell 2 and I don't like Imperfect Cell 2...
15. Freeza

16. Beerus ]--> Cause he's Beerus
17. Videl ]--> Because it's still a bit of a sausage-fest
18. Goten (SSJ) ]--> If playing one or the other can activate fusion dance to become Gotenks
19. Trunks (SSJ) ]-->
20. Gotenks (SSJ 1, 2, 3) ]--> He'd have a set time limit with infinite ki with each transformation decreasing the time limit
21. 16 ]--> We need at least one more buff and big character other than buff Roshi and he seems like he'd have a cool move set such as rocket arms
22. Dr. Gero ]--> It would be neat to have a guy who could absorb ki attacks and steal hp. Plus it never hurts to have another old guy
23. Your character ala character customization
24. Future Trunks ]--> Token swordsman
25. Kaioshin ]--> Unlike many people I really like him for some weird reason unknown to even me and I really liked his look before he became Kibitoshin. Also it would be cool if there was at least one character who used telekinetic attacks. It would be as if he had the force and he would do things like force chokes. Then again maybe Chaozu would be a better choice... He does have that head spinny action thing going on... and we could always use smaller more annoying to hit characters...

Hidden Characters

Arale and Gatchans ]--> Most OP team ever. Ultimate attack would have Tsun Tsuku Tsun going into a rage combo
Great Saiyaman ]--> Ultimate attack would include Great Saiyaman Mark 2
Majin Vegeta ]--> He looks cool with his veiny arms and smug grin
Whis ]--> His mysteriousness makes him worthy to be a hidden character
Oob ]--> A quick, mostly melee fighter with sub par defenses but high attack
GT Goku Kid (SSJ 1, 2, 3, 4) ]--> I'm not too fond of GT, but it would be a shame to completely leave GT out of it

Pretty much every character with every form that's not fan-made. I know that's a lot, but I like to have variety even though I'd only play maybe 15 of those characters, which I could easily get with a smaller roster. I also like to fight many different characters, particularly ones that I don't play as much. I don't really care for making my own character, but I suppose that might be fun to mess around with again.

I think we need more fantasy fusions and transformations back. Normally I'm not a fan of huge scale rosters but most DBZ fans do. If Namco Bandai had to make a large scale roster then this is my idea for a huge scale roster.

1. DB Kid Goku
2. DBZ Goku (Base, SSj, SSj2, SSj3, SSjG)
3. Beyond God Goku (Base, SSjGSSj)
4. GT Kid Goku (Base, SSj, SSj3, SSj4)
5. DBZ Vegeta (Base, SSj, ASSj, SSj2, SSj3, SSjG)
6. Beyond God Vegeta (Base, SSjGSSj)
7. GT Vegeta (Base, SSj, SSj2, SSj3, SSj4)
8. Kid Gohan
9. Cell Saga Gohan (Base, SSj, SSj2)
10. Adult Gohan (Base, SSj, SSj2, Mystic)
11. Great Saiyaman
12. Kid Goten (Base, SSj)
13. Adult Goten (Base, SSj)
14. Kid Trunks (Base, SSj)
15. GT Trunks (Base, SSj)
16. Future Trunks (Base, SSj, ASSj, SSj3)
17. Piccolo
18. Yamcha
19. Krillin
20. Master Roshi
21. Tenshinhan
22. Chazou

Xenoverse's roster post DLC with all of this minus Cui and Garlic, plus Demigra, Rilld/Rildo(base and metallic), Baby Vegeta's first two forms and GT Uub(both forms, maybe as costumes/variations) is pretty much what I want as far as actual stuff from the various series go (plus anything that comes out of Super and plenty of costumes), outside of that I want them to add in a bunch of the what if transformations and fusions (Like Baby Janemba) from Heroes along with some other crazy what-if stuff made specifically for the game and maybe one or two original characters.
Oh and I'd throw in a regular Oozaru and Dr. Uiro/Wheelo as bosses as well.
And not 100% relevant to this thread, but man I hope Xenoverse 2 changes the transformation system to be more like the Budokai games.
EDIT: Yikes, I don't know how I forgot Pikkon, he's my favorite filler character.

First idea:
Dragon Ball Heroes, for sure. I love the extensive choices of variety. Throw in some more what-if characters, too!

However, if it were up to me, every character would be as strong/weak as each other, though have various abilities, attacks, and attributes to separate them from other characters. SS4 Gogeta could fairly be beaten by SS Future Trunks, for example. The gamer would have to rely on skill and preference.

Second idea:
Same roster as Heroes, yet a lot more customizability. Every Saiyan can transform into every version of transformation (Great Ape, SSJ1-4 and any varieties in between, Golden Great Ape, SSJG, SSGSS, LSSJ, etc), every Frieza-race can transform into any Frieza form version, including Golden or Coolers final form.
It would be stupidly over the top. However, this is DBZ...

I think it would be cool if there was a "Rock the Dragon Edition" fighter, only featuring characters from the first two seasons and first three movies. The roster could be:

Goku (Base, Kaio-ken)
Krillin (Base, Potential Unlocked)
Vegeta
Oozaru Vegeta
Tien
Yamcha
Chiaotzu
Kid Gohan (Base, Rage, Potential Unlocked)
Oozaru Gohan
Yajirobe
Master Roshi
King Kai
Piccolo
Nail
Raditz
Saibaman
Nappa
Appule
Cui
Dodoria
Zarbon (Base, Monster)
Guldo
Recoome
Jeice
Burter
Captain Ginyu
Freeza (Base only)
Sansho
Ginger
Nicki
Garlic jr (Base, Transformed)
Ebifurya
Kishime
Misokatsun
Dr. Kochin
Dr. Wheelo
Lakasei
Raisin
Cacao
Daiz
Amond
Turles (Base, Post-fruit)
Scarface
Shorty
Princess Snake
Yetti
Goz
Mez
Raspberry
Blueberry
Zaacro (Namekian disguise, True form)
Raiti (Namekian disguise, True form)
Zeshin
Pigero
