Goku states in the manga that while fighting Kid Boo, he notices that Kid Boo's ki never decreases. So it's very likely that Kid Boo was going all out in trying to kill Goku.

Yes kid buu is a fricking demon. You can say whatever you want about that pink little monster. But he is vicious and can take a punch. He didn't tire. Nor did he seem to lose any energy. Nor could any real damage could be placed on him. He is a beast. Prob would have killed goku and vegeta. If vegeta didn't get the idea for the spirit bomb.Lord Beerus wrote:Goku states in the manga that while fighting Kid Boo, he notices that Kid Boo's ki never decreases. There's no indication that Pure Buu's holding back in terms of his actual power whatsoever. The only time it's ever suggested that he's going at it at anything less than his best was when he decided to play around instead of regenerating immediately following Goku's second Kamehameha, and Goku comments as such. Everything else stated or shown indicates he was going at it at full strength, and the only reason Goku couldn't make headway against him was because Buu's stamina wasn't depleting, and Goku's own approach to fighting him wasn't suitable to counter it.

All through the manga we see characters knowing when someone his holding back through sensing Ki. There is something noticeably different from a Ki that isn't at full power and a Ki that is at full power. Suppressing is such an efficient tool during battle because while a person who can sense Ki can tell that you're holding back power. They can't determine how much. A prime example of this is when Goku was up against Freeza. Goku thought that Freeza was bluffing about only needing half of his power to beat Goku. At this point Goku knew that Freeza was still holding back but as far as he was concerned Freeza could be using 90% of his power. So by this simple fact. Goku and Vegeta never noted that Pure Boo was holding back. Therefore he must not have been.

I'm not talking about holding power back, I'm talking about losing power. Super Buu had Good Buu in him which must have made him significantly stronger. Kids Buu doesn't have Good Buu.

The way their power works is weird, logically after they detached fat boo he should've turned back into the skinny boo but he didn't so... Who knows.
I do think he's probably a tad weaker than Boo was when he had absorbed gohan et al, but still just as dangerous.

The fat Buu wasn't "connected" to kid Buu before he was sneezed out. He had been separated and his pod just sat there for a while. No power increase could have been taking place at that time.
Also, there is nothing in the text that indicates kid Buu was holding back, therefore there is no basis to make such a conclusion.

Nothing in the anime or manga states that Kid Buu held back at all. The only things we know are that Kid Buu was weaker than Super Buu but much more destructive (and therefore dangerous), Buff Buu (seen briefly when Super Buu transforms into Kid Buu) was stronger than Super Buu, and Fat Buu simply has only a little bit of strength. When Fat Buu initially expelled Evil Buu from his body, Evil Buu got all of the power. Up to the end where Kid Buu spits out Fat Buu, it can still be safely assumed that Evil/Super/Kid Buu retained most, if not all, of the power, hence he thrashes Fat Buu so easily before the end.
We also must remember that Kid Buu had perpetual energy and stamina which means he never lost strength or got tired. Even if he used only half, for instance, he would never lose anything. It would be the same as if he used his full strength, which I believe he did when he fought Goku. Now when he fought Vegeta, he probably didn't use full strength because he didn't need to.
