Yes. In a post credits scene you see him back in Hell. So it can be assumed Goku's blast killed him.

It's assumed by Whis that Freeza survived his own planet buster because he can survive in space.

Freeza was already shown to be one tough bastard in his final form when Namek blew up. I'm sure as Golden Freeza, he could survive the destruction of Earth.

Not every planet buster has the same power. Though he probably only put just enough power to destroy Earth to avoid possibly dying himself.

Was it freezas blast that caused the explosion or was it a chain reaction , like on nemmk?

Because the synopsis makes it sound like a chain reaction but when earth explodes,the explosion is filled with purple aura same as freezas ki blast.

Well,going by the purple aura thing id say his blast had a delayed reaction and just blew up a bit later,hence the magma and so on.Plus we know from planet namek that a core bust is not instant,takes quite a bit of time for the planet to go boom.

As for if freeza survived,why not,I'm sure was proly just a small breeze for him ^^.

Edit:U can also see in picture number 1 that his purple energy is expanding,so ye proly a slow explosion just to make it more dramatic.
