The best Figures/Statues for each character

Post by LettuceJUMP » Fri May 15, 2015 8:01 am

Good morning Dragon Ball Fans!
I've started recollecting figures 15 years after my DBZ love began. I had all the terrible Jacks Pacific figures back in the day, that I thought were amazing.
Now I have the Bandai Zero Series Piccolo, SSJ Vegeta, SSJ Goku, and SSJ Trunks but have yet to find any other figures up to this quality. I do not like articulation as all the joints ruin the look for me. I know there is also a Freeza in that same Zero series, but are there are any other figure lines up to this quality?
Which figure for each character do you feel is the best version of that character. Captures the face, hair, costume colors etc?

Thanks for input
Matt

While I don't know about statues for DBZ (I'd say Megahouse for Sailor Moon though), I think the S.H. Figuarts line is the best for each, minus SSJ3 Goku, as far as figures with joints go. I've got most of them, and I can say the sculpt is about as good as you're gonna get for the size and poseability (is this really not a word?).
This is pretty much how Freeza and Vegeta looks on my shelf.

They also look great when people create the illusion that they're on fire with a prism: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22hp-WBoTTc

Now I grew up mainly with the Irwin line. These are drugstore toys; pure garbage. I don't understand why anyone would want these. Most of them have awful sculpts, and they're not that durable either. Posing? Limited.
I think Jakks Pacific had a slightly better line, but still nothing great:
But nothing compared to how cool their prototypes looked:
I think you have the most room and power for stop motion and or photography with Figuarts:
Just watch out for these nasty bootlegs:
I made the mistake of buying these years ago.

I don't know about Mac 'n' Puke, but Burger Krust had some decent looking statues back in the day. I think I have a few packed away, still in the plastic:

I totally forgot about those Burger King "statues" and I bet they are still lying around in a box somewhere at my parents' house.

I've just started collecting figures, but so far I'm a big fan of all of the Banpresto ones I've snagged.

Got this a couple days ago and was pretty impressed. Its going to sit on my shelf, so really didn't need any posable attributes. WARNING: New Movie Spoiler, kind of. :)
