Most intense music from the series?
What do you think are the most intense pieces of music from the series? By 'intense' i generally mean fast paced or "heavy" music.
From the Levy/Wasserman score:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W15zitNTarM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVnZb1fVk0g
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRkDi06X-Eg
From the Westwood score:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QV4cwNY0EPg
From the Faulconer productions score:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7R2fn0eWH4
Overall i think the Saban score was the most intense, as it had a lot of very fast paced & frantic pieces, although i'd say the Faulconer and Menza scores felt the most metal.

Re: Most intense music from the series?
I thought Kikuchi produced some really intense tracks, as well:

Re: Most intense music from the series?
When I think of "intense" music from the series, my mind instantly goes to these Kikuchi compositions:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u7Q4NNKDtY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cG8YdwCVZSc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u7Q4NNKDtY

Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.
Re: Most intense music from the series?
Ginyu Transformation and Super Buu's theme from Team Faulconer are pretty intense if you ask me
Re: Most intense music from the series?
There are many I could list but these 2 come to mind:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xmTQk_Il-E
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-p5nBPlwQA
Apart from Trunks going SS/USS, I remember the 2nd one playing during the scene where Goku leads Androids 19 and 20 away from the city and just thinking it fitted perfectly. It gave the whole thing a real doomsday/futuristic end of the world feel, which makes sense as they were about to enter a battle in which they were supposed to die, and Goku having the heart virus just added to the tension.

Re: Most intense music from the series?
You mentioned 'series' in your original post, does that mean exclusively the three TV shows or do movies count?
I ask because Fukkatsu no F's soundtrack is pretty damn intense. It may not be particularly suited to the tone of the franchise, but it's as dark as they come.
In particular, Track 20 - 'Ruthless/Merciless Freeza', is exceptionally dark. Perhaps even more so is Track 28 - (SPOILER TITLE), though I feel that it's perhaps more sad than simply intense.

It really does. Makes me believe he could do a damn good job with the soundtrack for Dragon Ball Super if Toei is willing to give him a good budget for it.Naruto6583 wrote:Shows what he can do with a budgetLord Beerus wrote:Holy shit, that track is fucking phenomenal. Re: Most intense music from the series?
When I think "intense," the word that comes to my mind is "extreme." Like, "shit's about to get real unless it already has." This is what I got from OP's selection too.
Sooo...based on that:
Faulconer:

- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h86AXYcdMe4 - Vegeta Knows His Son!

Re: Most intense music from the series?
There are just far too many energetic songs from the series and I can't do them all justice by mentioning one.
Although I will:
This is just perfect for the heat of the battle. Pure intensity.
This is just so ridiculously grand and intense. I can already feel my blood boiling.

Re: Most intense music from the series?
In terms of Faulconer, my vote has to go with the, unfortunately unused outside of an old promo (that I rewatched many times just for the track), Heroic Trunks. Honorable mention goes to the Super Saiyan 3 theme.
For Kikuchi, it's freakin' tough. I'll just mention some of my favorite energetic themes, without repeating ones already mentioned.
I'll start with Vegeta's movie 12 theme. That rhythm gets me pumped big time.
I also loved this theme from movie 11, which is probably my favorite rendition of this leitmotif used throughout Z. It has a nice bass line and beat. It was also one of my favorite tracks when I was a kid. The version from movie 4 when Goku becomes a "false" Super Saiyan is my second favorite rendition.
I'm also incredibly partial to this piece from movie 6, which was used as Cell's theme in the series. That deep piano that's timed with the beat is very poweful.
