Dragon Ball Heroes Cards / IC Carddass

Post by nekobi » Tue Jul 07, 2015 3:20 pm

So I've been really interested in collecting some Dragon Ball Heroes cards as the art is completely awesome but was wondering if anyone knows more about them and/or how they are distributed? I'm aware of the ones you can get in the candy packs/promos in magazines, etc but what about the main "sets"? I keep seeing ads for these new "God Mission" sets on Japanese TV but for the life of me can't find much for sale aside from incredibly priced singles from individuals on Rakuten, Amazon JP or YJ. Were they only sold in vending machines in Japan?

I've searched and searched but can't seem to find any booster packs and such. Are they only available in the Heroes game machines themselves? Sorry for the noob questions. I just love the art on these cards and would love to start collecting if I can get them somewhere for retail type prices. :)

Also noticed these new IC Carddass cards while browsing the new DB wholesale offerings (I run an anime shop ^^) and they look interesting! Anyone know anything more about them?

It looks like maybe you can use the reader to play online? I'm debating picking some up myself but the only thing I don't like is some of the art. It almost looks like a westernized version of the characters to me. Just my opinion though. :)

I can't help on the new Carddass stuff there, but the main Heroes card sets are only available in the machines. I think you get 1 card for each time you play, but you can also access a mode specifically for buying the cards without playing the missions each time as well. So if you want them, you're going to have to resort to the second hand stores/auctions, whether that be individual cards, the whole sets, or somehow getting the distribution boxes that are used to stock the machines.
