Whats your favorite spine art?

I think the second is my favorite. I love the light colors and how it says "Dragon Ball" with the characters interacting with the letters. It seems the most fun.

The first and second printings are the best.

The first is my favorite.

I'm gonna go with the second one. The first one is really good too, but it has that double Yajirobe thing going on which really bugs me.

Second one for me.

The first one is not planned out all that well (it's like 4 separate drawings shoved together with a Nimbus trail to try to cover it up, and doesn't feature any Buu arc characters at all), and the third one just doesn't appeal to me very much.

Ultimately, I like the second, refreshed tankobon version the best. The first one would be my favorite if it were properly planned after that fact like the second one (which would be impossible to do from Toriyama with serialization), but it only goes up to the robits material, has the double Yajirobe and feels more disconnected with Shenlong seeming like he tacked on the front and said robit characters tacked on the back. That middle portion (while still a bit disconnected) is really nice though. if it were interwoven like that from start to finish and covered the full series? No contest. The third one, while fun, just seems a little disconnected with the racing theme.

First printing hands down. I love this kind of montage, it feels like something that could actually happen in the story itself. And I also like how it's repeated in GT in the animation for Don't you see:

By the way, if anyone happens to own this, could you scan the right portion at a higher resolution, please?

The spine art from the second printing is my personal favorite.

I get heavy nostalgia for the first printing, but I gotta say I think the second printing one looks a lot better. The Kanzenban one is cool, but not my favorite.

I like the art style on the first printing, but over all I gotta go with the kanzenban because it's got Vegeta furiously riding a tricycle.

Definitely the second printing, although the kanzenban spine art is pretty good too. The first printing just seems too plain to me.

Well uh...the third one has Piccolo in a racecar. At first glance, I thought it was King Piccolo. That almost sold it for me. But like a lot of these others, I choose the second one.

It is old Piccolo Daimao. He's got the big wrinkly head and Daimao crest on his chest and car.

Got to go with the third printing which are the Kanzenbens. I always enjoyed Dragon Ball characters and race cars since we never usually see them doing that except Bulma. There was the driving filler, but that was part of the Anime...

It looked like he had the cape on, so that threw me off. Well, then, it seems that one wins just because it has something so amazing to look at that it outweighs everything else.

He does have the cape on, because it's his design from his debut.
