Strength of alien champion from Super episode 2?

Post by Berserker1921 » Sun Jul 26, 2015 1:44 pm

I assume he had a decent high power level. Maybe around ssj2 Goku of Gohan? I know beerus was toying with him but still he must have had some sort of power.

I think he was Zarbon level. First Form Frieza at best. Beerus would have toyed with him regardless if he was SSJ2 level or Raditz level.

we really have no reference frame whatsoever to estimate his power level. all we know is he is a lot stronger than the Dinosaur and a lot weaker than Beerus.

The reason I mentioned Goku power level. Because he toyed with ssj3 Goku in a very similar fashion. Also i would imagine if he was weaker then at least ssj2 Vegeta he would have been much more easily defeated.

I have him at Namekian average level. He could be anywhere from Goku at the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai to SSJ3 Goku. With that said, following some logic he shouldn't be stronger than Freeza who's a mutant, even the Ginyus call them selves mutants. He's just a random strong alien in a primitive Planet.

If there were random underdeveloped aliens who were stronger than Gods like Kaioshin, then I don't think Freeza would be the emperor of the universe.

This portion of the series takes place wayyyy after Frieza. Anything could really happen.

A few decades isn't "wayyyyy" after Freeza, especially when we're supposed to believe Freeza has been ruling the universe for centuries prior to his defeat.

Yet he was surpassed by essentially every character after his Saga. Again, anything is possible.

Beerus makes a big deal out of someone beating Freeza. He probably thought among mortals no one could do that. So I take it the alien guy can't be stronger than Freeza. There's no real way to gauge the guy. I'd say because he has a strong aura, he's gotta at least be Saiyan arc tier at the lowest. After that I think he can be anywhere but Freeza level. I'm not even sure Beerus ever saw Final Form Freeza, so maybe he only saw first form. So perhaps this guy is lower than that.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Krillin, Tien, Yamcha have not surpassed him and they are also among the strongest fighters in the universe. The Sayians and Piccolo are the only ones to become stronger than him. The Androids were designed to be very strong, but they are not a race, including Cell, while Buu was always stronger and Dabura was not technically part of the Universe.

When a lack of statements are there it's best to look at the secondary resource, the feats.

Vegeta was able to block several hits but this 'alien champion' was not able to, and according to the feats, Vegeta out performed everybody but Goku, because of statements. So he could potentially be Super Perfect Cell tier, to approaching high Buu Arc characters.

Vegeta Ssj2: 10
Ultimate Gohan: 9
Alien Champion: 8
Gotenks Ssj3: 6

I'm just going to put him there for fun.

I'd put him between Zarbon and Ginyu's power level. There's no way this creature is stronger than Frieza, who even Beerus is surprised to have been killed. Ginyu, apparently, has a history switching bodies with people, so it's not hard to believe there were aliens out there even the Ginyu Force could not beat. It's uncertain whether this guy is one of those aliens though.

Fighters existed that surpassed Frieza, prior to Beerus knowing about The Original Super Saiyan & Saiyan God, not to mention Majin Buu.

All those creatures existed in ancient times. And Dabura existed in another dimension. In the modern universe, Frieza was #1 in the mortal realm, prior to Goku becoming a SSJ.

Exactly. Also you have to remember beerus thinks anyone that isn't Whis or a super Saiyan God as fodder at best. He didn't even acknowledge Buu who was leagues above frieza originally. And perhaps he saw frieza potential, that's why he was surprised. However he prob didn't realize that frieza back then was too lazy to unleash it. Also you forgot about supreme Kai who was said to have been double frieza power

Most likely, he's weaker than Nappa. The Saiyans were considered above-average fighters in the universe, so I don't see why a typical Saiyan warrior wouldn't be able to handle an alien caveman on some random planet. None of his feats were all that impressive anyway - we've seen better attacks from Cui of all people. Putting him close to a Super Saiyan's battle power would be nonsensical, even by Dragon Ball standards.

This sort of goes to show that it's impossible to really gauge the strength of DBZ characters if you don't have a solid comparison. Someone Raditz level or so could appear to be just as strong as someone SSJ3 level when there's no context.

Some random alien of unknown origin being anywhere even remotely close to Frieza's first form is probably out of the question. In fact, I'd be quite surprised if he was stronger than Bardock or King Vegeta, as a power of that magnitude may have caught the attention of some of the higher powers like King Kai. In any case, Beerus seems like the type of fighter who adjusts his own power level accordingly to buy himself the pleasure of toying with his opponents.

Barring Whis, Beerus, Buu, Dabura, and Kaioshin, I don't think there was anyone out there who wielded the kind of power that Frieza had. If that were the case, Beerus wouldn't have been so overwhelmed with shock after hearing about the tyrant's death. The look on his face, and his reaction pretty clearly emphasizes the fact that he was awe-struck by the news.

I agree. I wouldn't even put him at Nappa level.

Saiyans are meant to be far above average and Nappa was an elite among them.

I'd guess anywhere from saibamen level to possibly Nappa level if I'm being generous.
