Deep Discount DVD . . . Do I Buy?

Post by Li'l Lemmy » Thu Mar 09, 2006 7:46 pm

I decided to investigate Deep Discount DVD and their prices for the Freeza discs (as recommended by VegettoEX), but then I also took time to explore a little here and there where the other sagas are concerned . . . and with prices like these, there's really no reason for anyone to whine about the cost of FUNimation DVDs ever again! Buy, buy, buy!

Impulsive person that I am, I no longer have any excuse not to fill every gap in my DBZ collection . . . and as it turns out, I just might do all my DVD shopping here!

However, I was wondering if anyone who has shopped here before could tell me something about their reliability before I make my first purchase (which will be fairly large); while I wouldn't generally expect any problems right off the bat, it'd be helpful to know if anyone's had any difficulties worth mentioning . . .

Or if anyone has a good word for Deep Discount instead, they can throw that in too.

I have ordered Dragon Ball discs from them multiple times before, all without trouble. To be honest, I would never purchase Dragon Ball DVDs in a retail store again. DDD charges no shipping and their prices are amazing.

I do know of at least one incident though where they shipped the wrong DVDs. My father ordered the complete series (all 3 boxsets) of Star Trek TOS. When we received the order however it was the complete series of Star Trek: Enterprise. Although it was the wrong DVDs we didn't care because the Enterprise series cost about $100 more than TOS but we ended up getting it for TOS price. :D

My anime shop used to sell used dbz dvds for as low as 10-6 bucks a pop.

If only I knew this when buying my Freeza dvds (which I bought all 10 for at retail price at suncoast).

DeepDiscount is pretty good since I got movie 8 from there as a birthday present for a relative.

Lemmy, let me paint you a picture...
...One which can be found: here.

All those orders successful, timely, and arrived without so much as one hitch. Including the latest one, 12/09/05; which I even had to call them up about to get the address listing changed, because I forgot to change it properly BEFORE ordering.

Hell, I even got a FREE movie from them, as a result of some sort of circumstantial problem with an order.

I believe it was movie 9 I got free from them, I am not sure where that copy has gotten to of late though. Lol...
...Maybe I gave it away...

My very first order with them was for one of the ADV Films, Sailor Moon boxsets. It didn't ship (despite me getting the shipping email), the customer service rectified it and upgraded me to free 2nd day air shipping. I've since made about 30 orders with them, all arriving on time.

Well, every company makes mistakes. I sure hope they make that mistake with me. Free movies? That's practically an incentive to buy, dammit!

Backtracking: That's one hell of a "picture" you've painted up there for me, and way more of a recommendation than I hoped for. Sure pushed any doubt I had straight outta my head.

A bit . . . strange, but not the worst thing that could happen. <trekker alert>They're just following the first Rule of Aquisition, after all: Once you have their money, you never give it back!</trekker alert>

Then I'm basically covered!

I have ordered from them for years now. Always reliable, always the best price, and always free shipping. How much sweeter an online deal can you ask for? Just throwing my opinion out there to add to the others. Deepdiscountdvd.com can not be beat when it comes to ordering your DVDs online especially Dragonball DVDs. Check out thier prices on the Original DB Saga sets. I got almost every single one of those through Deepdiscountdvd.com.

Yeah, their Dragonball discs are a great price!

I have all of DBZ except "World Tournament," none of the Buu saga, like two of the Ultimate Extreme whatever edtions. Those are more than I want to spend right now.

I'll get the rest of Dragonball, at some point. Although, I'm kind of not happy with one of the discs I have. Anytime there is movment I get really bad pixels showing up. :o

I have all the GT discs, except the very last one.
