Dragon Ball Z on Amazon Video
Dragon Ball Z on Amazon Video
Apparently Dragon Ball Z is now available for streaming on Amazon Video. I can't seem to find much information or mentions of it but it's been available for about a month as far as I can tell. It also doesn't list which release it is, what aspect ratio or what resolution it is streaming in. If they are streaming Dragon Box footage (unlikely, but I can dream), it would be perfect for someone who wants the Dragon Box footage without the $600+ price tag. Although, at $2-3 per episode, it could climb up there pretty quick. If anyone has an additional information about it, let me know as it seems this flew past everyone's radar.

At the per-episode price for HD, it will be more than 600$, won't it?
Hulu is streaming DBZ, anyway, both subbed and dubbed, that is a cheaper way to watch it if you don't mind standard resolution. They are up to the Cell Saga now, but they regularly add more episodes.
I think the episodes of Z Kai on amazon are cheaper, though. Still, wish it was available on prime.

Based off of most online releases that FUNimation has done, it's almost certainly the orange brick footage.
Re: Dragon Ball Z on Amazon Video
It's also offering both the SD and HD versions of each episode. Maybe....it's the Dragon Box footage for the SD version and previously unreleased Level Set footage for the HD.....nah probably not. Perhaps Orange Brick and Season Set Bluray footage though?

Wish it was up on Netflix.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

They also take off the old episodes but only for Z, they have the all of dragon ball though, but only subbed which I have no problem with, but if you're a dub fan you're shit out of luck.irreality wrote:

More importantly (in my opinion): they also have the first 52 episodes of Kai, which have not previously been available for streaming anywhere to my knowledge (well, besides the Nicktoons website having some of the edited episodes for a while).
Doesn't seem to be any indication of whether it's the English dub or sub though.

Ah, I didn't even notice part of Season 1 and Season 2 were missing. I just skipped towards the end, was watching android saga recently.soppa saia people wrote:

Re: Dragon Ball Z on Amazon Video
There was that Daisuki stream of Z from a while back that used the Dragon Box footage (though I think episode 1 was from the BD level sets), but that doesn't seem to be there anymore.
Point being, there is some hope that maybe it could be Dragon Box?

I would assume that it's the Funimation release, so English and Japanese audio tracks.Theophrastus wrote:More importantly (in my opinion): they also have the first 52 episodes of Kai, which have not previously been available for streaming anywhere to my knowledge (well, besides the Nicktoons website having some of the edited episodes for a while).

I figured as much. Interesting that they slipped DBZ onto Amazon without even making an announcement or notifying fans.
Re: Dragon Ball Z on Amazon Video
Maybe fear of oversaturation? We just got the new movie after a re-release of the series, and Super and Kai are probably on their way. Maybe they thought it'd be best to let this one out quietly. Or it could just be not "newsworthy" for them.MrWalnut4 wrote: I figured as much. Interesting that they slipped DBZ onto Amazon without even making an announcement or notifying fans.
